WWE SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan is reportedly considering a new, safer in-ring style. There has been speculation for months now that Daniel Bryan will be returning to the ring when his WWE contract expires in about a year and a half from now. On Tuesday night’s edition of “Talking Smack” on the WWE Network, The Miz poked fun of D-Bryan for not being able to wrestle due to “his head.” Bryan responded with the following: “We’ll see in a year and a half, we’ll see what happens.”

As many of you know by now, Daniel Bryan was forced to retire in February of 2016 after several concussions and a lesion on his brain. According to sources, Vince McMahon “rushed” Bryan into retiring after he was given a “speech” backstage. WWE’s doctors won’t clear Bryan to wrestle and they likely never will. Bryan’s own doctors have cleared him though. During an appearance on ESPN in September of last year, Bryan told Jonathan Coachman he was cleared by several concussion specialists, but flagged on one test. He added that the more he’s learned about the test, the more he thinks it shouldn’t have forced his retirement. He also told “The Coach” that he felt 100% and wants to wrestle.

There is talk that one of Daniel Bryan’s main goals has been to work with the CMLL promotion. He has always wanted to do an angle leading to a hair vs. hair match at their anniversary show. Bryan’s new in-ring style would be lower risk but allow him to have interesting matches. Bryan has not wrestled a match since April 14th, 2015.
