The decision to remove Ryback from WWE television was made before the WWE Payback pay-per-view event. As you’d likely expect, Ryback is very likely to be released from the company after a recent meeting with WWE management and Vince McMahon didn’t go so well. Also, his merchandise was priced down for quick sale, which is something WWE always does when they release or are planning to release a talent. The current feeling backstage is that it will be easier to let his contract expire than release him right away. Ryback’s current WWE contract expires within the next few months.

As previously reported here on eWrestlingNews.com, there are multiple issues between Ryback and WWE with the main reason being that they are very far apart on money. Also, Ryback made several other demands that Vince McMahon wasn’t going to break on. One such item of discussion was that Ryback wanted his new contract to be guaranteed for its term, meaning if he were to be released for any reason whatsoever, he would still be paid the remainder of his contract in full. One source said some of his demands were “mind boggling” and there is no way Vince McMahon would give into those demands. Another source said his “ego was beyond ridiculous” and he “thinks he’s a much bigger star than what he is.”

Multiple sources say it’s only a matter of time before he’s released, likely when his contract expires within the next few months. Of course, it could happen earlier than that as they were going to let Wade Barrett stick around until his contract expired and he wound up being released several weeks early during a round of releases last Friday.
