I'm afraid I've got some BAD NEWS. Tonight on Monday Night Raw there was an update on Wade Barretts injury, and it was one I wasn't expecting. Barrett will be out for a few months due to a separated shoulder. This injury, caused by Real American, Jack Swagger during last weeks Smackdown.
With Barrett gone this leaves the Intercontinental Title vacant and, at Battleground, there will be a Battle Royal to determine who will be the champion. You may feel a sense of "Deja-Vu" because, Sunday at the MITB PPV, the WWE Championship was defended in a Ladder Match. Keep in mind that Daniel Bryan was injured and had to have neck surgery. When the WWE found out he may be out for months, they stripped him of the championship belts and made the MITB ladder match.
Barrett's injury makes this the second champion this year to be taken out of action. The WWE should be taking more care of their investments, with the lack of success with the WWE Network, they really can not afford to have any superstars out of commission. I hope that Wade Barrett makes a speedy recovery, as well as Daniel Bryan.
