Current RAW star Big Cass, recently sat down with talkSPORT (GorillaPosition) & discussed his goals in WWE. Cass touched on who he wants to main event WrestleMania with, working with Kurt Angle, addresses his doubters and much more.

Here are the highlights:

What Are Big Cass’s Plans For SummerSlam & Addressing His Problems With The Big Show:

“When I was with Enzo, Big Show always helped me out. He was always great to talk to him and have critique my stuff when I was in that team, but it’s a different ball game now I’m on my own. I think being in the same ring with Big Show shows the WWE Universe what I’ve got and that I can stand toe-to-toe with him. It helps me out and shows what I’m capable of both in the short-term and in the long-term. The only way to go to get ahead and my goal right now is to get ahead of the Big Show and it’s nothing personal, its just business. It’s something I need to do to progress in my career, to earn more money, to earn that spot and become the new unstoppable force on RAW.”

“It’s an interesting test and something I’ve never done before. I’ve never worked with someone my size or bigger than me before, So right of the bat, I’ve spilt with Enzo and Big Show steps up. It’s definitely a change of pace for me, definitely different and quite the difficult challenge. Big Show is the Big Show, he’s seven feet tall, he’s five hundred pounds and just a massive human being. I’m looking forward to the challenge to show there’s a new big man in town and it’s Big Cass.”

How Long Has Cass Been Frustrated With Enzo:

“There were a lot of times where I got frustrated with Enzo. We had a lot of Tag Team Title matches that we always seemed to lose. It gets frustrating after a while because you feel like someone is always holding you back on the field, like they are dead weight and they’re not helping you progress in your career or win titles. This game is all about winning titles and being champion and I wasn’t doing that. Every opportunity just slipped through out fingers, not that I’m putting all the blame on Enzo, but a lot of it was because I was teaming with him. There were many moments that I contemplated quitting the tag team before I actually did.”

Cass Says He Does Not See Himself As A Bad Guy:

“I don’t see myself as a bad guy, I don’t know who portrays me as a bad guy. The guy who walks out there on a Monday night, Big Cass, he doesn’t think he’s a bad guy. My cause is just; I feel like I did the right thing. Anyone who disagrees with me, I think they’re stupid. They should understand what it’s like to have someone hold them back and have to constantly have to cover for somebody and help them out. It really effects your progression and your career. I did the right thing. If people want to say I’m a bad guy then that’s their agenda but I’m not a bad guy. I believe I’m right and I’m always going to believe I’m right, so if people want to like it it’s fine, or if they want to hate it that’s fine too. That’s who I am, I did what’s right for myself, my career and moving forward I’m not bad guy I’m Big Cass and I’m just being myself.”

Cass’s Thoughts On NXT Takeover Events:

“NXT will always be in my heart. Back in 2015 when NXT first went to Brooklyn it sold out. You look at RAW and SmackDown now and a lot of the guys there now were in NXT at that time and worked hard to get that brand going. We were touring the country and working hard and then boom; we sold out the Barclays Center. So whenever I see an NXT TakeOver show, whether it be from Toronto at Survivor Series or Royal Rumble or WrestleMania, it’s real special. I like to go out to gorilla and watch them there to see the crowd and watch everyone coming in and coming out because I remember what it’s like to be in NXT and being part of it because NXT Brooklyn was absolutely electric. It’s something I’ll never forget and it’s something I think about whenever I see an NXT TakeOver show.”

His Words To Those Who Doubted Him:

“That was one or two individuals in NXT at the time who were calling the shots, but you can’t call a ceiling on people and tell them what they can and can’t achieve. I would say it motivated me and you know who’s laughing now? Someone told me I was nothing more than an opening act and that I’d never be a top player in WWE or even NXT. They told me a lot of things and really discouraged me. Deep down, I always knew I was destined for bigger things so you have to rise above it. Their opinion didn’t matter, I always knew what I was going to be and what I was destined to be and that’s where I’m going. I got told the only reason I was there is because I was seven feet tall and there were always three guys ahead of me, that I was only going to last six more months in NXT. But I’m on Monday Night RAW now, have been for a year and I’m destined to be in the top spot and Universal Champion. When I do, I’m going to take that title and shove it down their throats and if they ever dare and try and take credit for it, then they are a fraud and they should know better.”

Cass’s Dream Opponent:

“Roman Reigns has main evented three WrestleMania’s in a row, I’d really like to main event WrestleMania with him. That’s a dream match of mine right now. Love him or hate him, whatever you think of him it doesn’t matter, I think only The Rock has main evented three WrestleMania’s in a row, so right now, he’s set the bar and that’s the guy I want to face at WrestleMania and go on last.”

Working With Kurt Angle:

“It’s been something really special. When he was being inducted into the Hall of Fame, I was on the way to the show with Carmella and I just couldn’t stop talking about how excited I was to hear Kurt Angle’s speech. I always thought Kurt was one of the greatest of all time, so I was excited to see him and then all of a sudden he’s RAW General Manager and I get to see every week. Whenever I’m in the same room with him, I make sure I pick his brain and make sure I get something out of him. That’s such a resource to have as a talent right now. Plus off screen he’s extremely fun to work with, he’s amazing both on and off screen.”
