According to sources, WWE released long-time agent/producer Steve “The Brooklyn Brawler” Lombardi over the last several days. Lombardi had been with the company for over thirty years and is probably the most famous and used enhancement talent of all-time.
During his years in the pro wrestling industry, Lombardi worked under several gimmicks including Abe “Knuckleball” Schwartz and Kim Chase. He also made rare appearances on camera over the years and was mostly used in a backstage role where he oversaw and produced numerous WWE talent promos.
Lombardi was the person that every talent had to cut promos for when trying out and he was influential in determining whether the talent would get looked at in a bigger way. Many talents were sad to have been shocked” by the departure due to his long tenure with the company. He was also very well liked among the boys.
