During Wednesday’s edition of Chris Jericho’s “Talk is Jericho” podcast (You can click here to listen to the show), Jericho briefly discussed Sunday night’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view event. MTV’s Johnny Bananas was the featured guest on this week’s show.

Jericho noted that he spoke with Balor and he says Finn didn’t start feeling sorry for himself until he saw someone on Good Morning America with no arm. He added that Balor is a “genuine, humble guy and he’s pulling for him to return and “kick some ass.”

Jericho added: “He’s got it all. He didn’t lose the title. He has this amazing new character that we don’t know anything about and then he goes out for 6 months with an injury.”

Jericho also said that when Balor returns, “hopefully by Wrestlemania”, he’ll be better than ever. Jericho did not address the backstage altercation/fight with Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam.

In other backstage Finn Balor news that we reported earlier, Dave Meltzer revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio on Wednesday that Balor was not originally scheduled to be put into the main event title picture during his main roster début on RAW several weeks ago, The original plans reportedly called for Balor to be involved in a program with Chris Jericho that would have featured a match between the two at SummerSlam and the feud would have then continued following the pay-per-view event. The two were also scheduled to face off at several live events following SummerSlam. Vince McMahon reportedly changed his mind and made the call to go all the way with Balor instead. Of course, the Balor injury and surgery has now forced WWE to make some major changes regarding the Universal title.

Also as noted Tuesday night here on eWN, Bayley was also not meant to be in the WWE Women’s title picture as soon as she was called up. It’s believed she was put into a program with Charlotte due to the absence and injury of Sasha Banks.
