Rhodes explained that he had been very frustrated with his positioning with the company as he wanted to end the Stardust character but was nixed, likely from Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn (who are said to be huge fans of the Stardust gimmick). In addition, Rhodes also took shots on the lead creative writers of RAW and SmackDown by referring them as “The guy pretending to be Brian Gewirtz and “The guy who was busy hitting on developmental divas.”
