Unless you live under a rock as a wrestling fan, you’ve probably heard about AJ Lee’s pipebomb of a promo. I caught RAW on a delay as I had to record it due to being busy with other things. Apparently school started back yesterday...now they tell me! In any case, I managed to see a very good RAW. It seems WWE has made strides to make the shows better and if it keeps up like this, I know I’ll be happy.

AJ’s promo just made the show that much better. She said a lot of truth, which as a heel you don’t always expect. You expect the heel to make it all about them and all, but not to say things that we’re all thinking.

Usually the edgy babyface says that kind of stuff.

AJ downright buried the stars of Total Divas. The show, which comes on E! on Sundays, is considered to be a very good reality show by critics. In fact, it’s the highest rated new show of the season for the network. If you’ve seen it, you can probably see why.

While it is a relatively good show, it’s full of a lot of drama. And for the women of WWE, drama is paramount. In show from this past week, we saw a ton of stuff packed into one. If you thought WWE was a male soap opera, then you’d be surprised at how much of that male soap opera can turn into a good reality soap.

When AJ was talking about it out-loud on RAW, I was thinking to myself that she would not go to the lengths that a Punk or Rock would. She’s a Diva, and they never do that sort of thing. But I was wrong; happily wrong however.

I managed to get the promo, in its entirety written out. So take a look at what AJ said:

“Do you want to know what I see when I look in that ring? Honestly? A bunch of cheap, interchangeable, expendable, useless women. Women who have turned to reality television, because they just weren’t gifted enough to be actresses. And they just weren’t talented enough to be champion. I have saved your divas division, I have shattered glass ceilings, I have broken down doors.

Why? So a bunch of ungrateful, stiff plastic mannequins can waltz on through without even as much as a ‘Thank You’?! You guys can’t even go backstage, and shake my hand and look me in the eye because you know that I worked my entire life to get here. I gave my life to this, and you were just handed fifteen minutes of fame.

I didn’t get here because I was cute, or because I came from some famous wrestling family, or because I ‘sucked’ up to the right people. I got here because I am good. I earned this championship. No matter how many red carpets you guys want to walk, in your four-thousand dollar ridiculous heels, you will never be able to lace up my Chuck Taylor’s. You are all worthless excuses for women, and you will never be able to touch me. And that is reality.”

Was it the best Diva promo ever? That’s tough to say really. I know I have trouble saying it was. To say that it was one of the best Diva promos ever would be accurate, because it sure as hell was.

I was asked my opinion on the matter by numerous people. When stating some opinions, I was told by some that AJ was a bad heel because she came of likable and logical in her promo. And heels, according to these people, “could not be logical”.

I find that idiotic to say the very least because it seems the best heels ever all had a point with what they said. Sure, they made it all about them. This much was needed of course. What heel does not want all of the attention? But to say they cannot ever be logical is wrong. In the case of AJ’s promo, she made it seem that she was holier than thou in comparison to the girls in the ring. She was simply stating things that she felt.

Of course, while this what she was saying seemed to be things we all were thinking, she still made it to where she came off trying to be looked at as the greatest Diva since Trish Stratus. So the promo was not face logical, but it sure as hell was factual.

What made AJ’s words true?

She said that she accomplished more in one year than all the girls did in their combined careers. I can’t really disagree with this comment....
