— ROH sent out the following today…

Sunday June 24th may have been the worst night of Davey Richards professional wrestling career.

At “Best in the World 2012: Hostage Crisis”, Davey Richards failed to reclaim the ROH World Title from Kevin Steen after basically staking his life on it. As if that was not enough, it came on the heels of the indignity of Kyle O’Reilly essentially spitting in the face of his training partner and walking out on Davey.

Since that night, Richards has yet to appear on a Ring of Honor event and has had very little contact with ROH officials despite repeated attempts to get in touch with The American Wolf. Well it seems officials just needed to be patient as Richards finally took it upon himself to contact them over the weekend regarding his future in Ring of Honor.

While ROH officials have not been the most open as to what took place in their conversation what we do know for certain is that as long as Kevin Steen remains ROH World Champion, the title is NOT something in Davey’s future. Beyond that, it is anyone’s guess what fashion their discussions took but what we have been told is that Davey Richards will be in attendance at “Death Before Dishonor X” on September 15th when we return to Chicago Ridge!

It is our understanding that Richards will address the fans in attendance and watching live across the world on iPPV as to what the future holds for him here in ROH. Davey is not one to pull any punches and has earned a reputation for being brutally honest about his thoughts & feelings on others as well as about himself. In the shadow of a World Title match pitting Kevin Steen versus Rhino, the former World Champion will let us know just where his head is at. Let the speculation begin…
