John Cena will have his reprising his role in the sequel to the Will Ferrell/Mark Wahlberg comedy Daddy’s Home according to Deadline.com. He did a cameo in the final scene of the original film.
Daddy’s Home 2, father Brad (Will Ferrell) and step-father Dusty (Mark Wahlberg), who feuded in the first film, are now working together to give their kids the perfect Christmas. When Dusty’s Dad (Mel Gibson, in his first studio acting gig in years) and Brad’s Dad (John Lithgow) arrive, family conflicts rise to the surface. John Cena’s character arrives and “shifts the macho dynamics as Dusty faces the challenges of being a stepfather in the face of a more ripped rival.”
It’s expected that the film will be released in November of this year.
