Daniel Bryan’s status with the WWE is currently up in the air, as
it’s unknown when exactly he will make his in-ring return. It was originally
believed that Bryan would return in June for a Buried Alive match with Kane at
the WWE Money in the Bank PPV. However, WWE officials aren’t sure he’ll be ready
by then. This is part of the reason why you are seeing the current booking with
Bryan where they are taking things on a “week to week” basis. As we reported two
weeks ago, the storyline where Daniel Bryan is being “forced” to surrender the
title is being played out until they get a better idea of how long he’ll be out
of action. They originally hyped up that he’d surrender the title on RAW this
past Monday and now they’re going with Payback instead.

The few WWE live events in June that have advertised Bryan in
matches were likely set before his surgery. WWE will usually get the venues to
remove the promotions but it’s likely these dates could have slipped by. It’s
highly unlikely that Bryan will work any matches between now and Money in the
Bank, even if he’s cleared to do it. If he’s not able to work the Money in the
Bank pay-per-view, he will work the match at WWE Battleground on July 20 in
Tampa.

Stephanie McMahon told Bryan on RAW that he must give up the WWE
World Heavyweight title on Sunday at Payback or Brie Bella will be fired. Brie
recently hinted in an interview that she wanted to start a family. This led
people to believe that she may take some time off at some point.
