Buff Bagwell’s accident happened last night. His jeep flipped over a reported eight or nine times in the accident, and he has a broken neck as well as his jaw wired shut for at least the next six months.

UPDATE: Scott Norton, who was Buff Bagwell’s partner in WCW, posted the following to Twitter: Update on Marcus. He’s going to be ok but keep him in your prayers for fast recovery.

Here is our exclusive report from earlier:

We reported earlier that former WCW wrestler Marcus “Buff” Bagwell, 42, was injured in a serious car accident on Tuesday, according to the Twitter account of the Atlanta, Georgia-based independent promotion Universal Championship Wrestling. UCW adds that Bagwell was admitted to an intensive care unit (ICU).

According to a source we spoke with earlier today, Buff has been in rough shape in recent months and had been “detoxing” at the time of today’s accident. Numerous friends of Buff have been worried about his condition for quite some time now. Our source notes that Buff has been doing things to “score pills”, including injuring himself on purpose. One source texted the following: “I wouldn’t be shocked if he did it to get more Rx”. When told that seemed pretty crazy that he’d do something like that, the source, who is very close friends with Buff, replied with: “Uve never met him then ….”.

It should be noted Buff no-showed an indy event several weeks ago and blamed it on a car accident. He was replaced by Raven at that event.

We’re told Buff went through a windshield during the wreck this morning. He’s currently in ICU with multiple face lacerations.

More as we get it.
