UPDATE: PWInsider has updated their story and noted that Orton’s issues appear to be concussion related, which would likely mean he hasn’t passed an Impact concussion test at this point.

Dave Meltzer also reports that Kane could be Orton’s replacement against Wyatt. Kane replaced Orton at a live event in Raleigh, North Carolina this past weekend, beating Wyatt in a match. So unless a surprise happens, Kane would be the most likely replacement.

There is no confirmation on what Orton’s injury is, but it is noted that he took a legitimate beating from Lesnar at SummerSlam and may have suffered a concussion.

ORIGINAL: As Kyle noted earlier here on eWN, PWInsider has reported that Randy Orton will not wrestle Bray Wyatt at WWE Backlash. At this time, there is no word on how WWE will handle him missing the event. Orton is currently backstage, yet he was not cleared to wrestle because of lingering effects from the TKO finish vs. Brock Lesnar at Summerslam. WWE hoped he would be cleared this week, but things did not go according to plan. To make matter worse, there is a chance the Orton vs. Lesnar rematch for September 24th house show in Chicago might not happen either now.
