UPDATE: Big Japan Wrestling had announced that Sami Callihan was missing their next tour as a result of signing with WWE, however this is reportedly not accurate.

Sources in CZW say that Callihan pulled off the tour because he has a family member dealing with a severe health issue. Callihan did not want to be out of the country for 7-10 days while it was ongoing. WWE reportedly has had interest in Callihan for some time, but his pulling out of the tour was not because he signed with WWE.

ORIGINAL: Big Japan Pro Wrestling has announced that Sami Callihan has been pulled from a tournament they are hosting later this month. The promotion noted that this was due to Callihan signing a deal with WWE.

It was reported last week that Callihan was one of several performers undergoing the WWE medical screening. While Big Japan did note that the change was made due to Callihan signing a WWE deal, Callihan and WWE have not officially confirmed the news.

— In other news, the World Wrestling League announced details for their upcoming shows scheduled for later this year. Some names announced for the upcoming WWL: Dream Matches Tour include John Morrison, Bobby Lashley, Blue Demon Jr and the Mexican legend and WWE Hall of Famer “Mil Mascaras”. The tour dates are the following:

* July 7th @ Monterrey, Nuevo León, México (with AAA-Mexico & Zero-1 Mexico)

* August 2nd @ Eagle Pass, Texas

* August 4th @ San Antonio, Texas

* October 26th @ Bayamon, PR

The WWL is expected to announce more dates for California (with PWR), Chicago, Pennsylvania and New York, as well as dates and locations for their Central and South American tour.
