-- Bubba the Love Sponge's name has, bizarrely, popped up in a peripheral way in the Pentagon sex scandal. Bubba's name was mentioned in emails between socialite Jill Kelley (who complained of harassing emails from an anonymous woman who turned out to be David Petraeus' biographer and mistress Paula Broadwell) and Tampa mayor Bob Buckhorn. Kelly--who herself was romantically linked to General John R. Allen, the top commander in Afghanistan--was asked by top officers from MacDill Air Force Base to intercede when Bubba declared that he was going to "deep fat fry" the Koran earlier this year.
Kelley was successful in working things out, as the frying never took place.
