UPDATE: Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that Ryback has not yet received his name change. The legal process of a name change requires the petitioner to post an announcement in a local newspaper three weeks in a row before it can be approved, and that Ryback has run at least one in the Nevada Law News last month. You can see the ad at the link.

Court officials tell the site that a judge has not yet signed off on the request.

ORIGINAL: As Kyle reported earlier, During Ryback’s podcast, he stated that he is in the process of changing his name legally to Ryback Alan Reeves. He said that he believed it had to be done, due to how unfair it is that WWE wrestlers spend so much time marketing their name, only to lose it when they leave. This is also what he had to say….

“It’s not uncharted territory, but it kind of is too in a way. I legally went and changed my name to Ryback, for many reasons, one of which it was one thing that I did not own, and I created and I used before my time with WWE. And it is something that is associated with my brand and who I am that I am very proud of. So, I went through the proper steps in Clark County in Las Vegas. And it cost a little bit of money, and I go in front of a judge September 1st. But when this airs, you know, hopefully everything is approved and I would be known as Ryback Alan Reeves moving forward.”
