Here are some live notes and a few videos from Saturday night’s WWE NXT live event in Albany, New York. I have TONS of videos and photos from the event that I hope to have up later today:
LIVE NOTES FROM RYAN CLARK:
WOW, what an awesome show. A nearly sold out event … guessing over 3,000 fans and they were LOUD from start to finish. I went to RAW a few weeks ago … 10,000+ people … and this crowd of around 3,000+ put them to shame. Way to represent tonight Albany. Ya’ made me proud! They’ll definitely be back after that! It was also awesome meeting a lot of you guys and I’m sorry to those of you who missed us. We’ll make it happen next time – promise.
* NO BEER BEING SOLD?! – I get it … there was an incident a few months ago that gained national media attention. Big fight at a Migos rap concert and they were stripped of their liquor license for now. Fans at the rap show … way to ruin it for everyone else. Scumbags.
* NO AIR CONDITIONING?! – I’ve NEVER been in a building that hot. Everyone in that place had sweat dripping from their faces. Brutal.
* TERRIBLE PA SYSTEM – You could barely make out what ring announcer JoJo was saying … maybe that was the reason there was very little promo time as well.
* THE PA SYSTEM DIED DURING BALOR’S ENTRANCE – The main entrance I wanted to see. Tyler Breeze comes out with music …. does his ring-corner pose for at least 4 minutes while they stalled …. Balor finally comes out with no music. The crowd cants the theme as he walks with no music … and it finally comes on AFTER he hits the ring. Ugh. Video coming soon.
* Sam Roberts (SIRIUSXM) was in attendance. Nice meeting you, Sam! Triple H was also spotted behind the curtain.
* Tommy Dreamer was our “ECW Surprise” for Baron Corbin. Similar to what they did last night in Philadelphia. HUGE pop for Tommy!
* Matt Boone wasn’t feeling well so we never went to Bombers for beer/wings and I wasn’t allowed to buy you guys any beer inside the venue. They also took my backpack filled with WZRtv/WZROnline.com t-shirts as I entered the arena and I didn’t get it back until after the show. Boone and I waited outside for 15 minutes or so after the show and handed a bunch out to many of you … but I know we missed a few of you. If you called/texted me …. email me your addy/size and we’ll ship those out ASAP.
* I have TONS of videos and photos coming soon. Wait until you guys hear how HOT this crowd was tonight. Awesome, AWESOME stuff. They knew the gimmicks, chants, etc.
Overall, an EXCELLENT show. Much better than any WWE event I’ve attended. If NXT comes to your town … GO SEE IT! Trust me … even Boone had fun and that says A LOT!
