Randy Orton has been WWE Champion since capturing the title from Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 33 last month. Many have speculated that Orton will run into AJ Styles this summer but that possibly could not be the case.
According to a report from Bill Bhatti of the “Dirty Sheets”podcast per SportsKeeda, Vince McMahon is very high on Orton and Orton is seen as “Vince’s guy”. The report states; according to their sources, Orton will not be losing the WWE Championship anytime soon and will not be losing the title to Jinder Mahal Sunday at Backlash.
Bhatti noted that McMahon singled out Orton for a push last summer as a “thank you” of sorts for Orton’s post-injury attitude, following his match with Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam last year, in which Orton was cut open.
Randy Orton is high on McMahon’s radar and it is quite possible Orton could hold the WWE Championship up-to or past SummerSlam.
