If you have not noticed on WWE TV as of late, there is no longer any pyro for the opening of shows, nor superstar entrances. It most recently became noticeable during Brock Lesnar’s entrance at Great Balls Of Fire, as well as Neville’s entrances.
During the latest installment of the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that the reasoning for the company cutting the pyro is because they want to cut cost for WWE programming. This also connects to the same entrance sets that are used for WWE TV shows and pay-per-views.
Meltzer also noted that the company simply feels that the pyro is not needed for the wrestlers.
