Recap Of Edge’s Appearance On ESPN’s SportsCenter

WWE Hall of Fame Edge appeared on ESPN’s SportsCenter Tuesday night (March 15th, 2016) to talk to Jonathan Coachman about WWE.

Edge explained that he has been a WWE fan since a young kid and was in attendance for the WrestleMania that featured Hulk Hogan vs. The Ultimate Warrior. He always knew he would be a wrestler. Edge talked about his TLC match at WrestleMania 16 and how important that match was for his career. When asked about spearing Mick Foley through a flaming table at WrestleMania 22, Edge said that it was his idea for the spot and Foley was the guy willing to do it. Edge called the spot stupid. The Undertaker was brought up.

Edge said that he was honored to be able to wrestle The Undertaker at WrestleMania 24. He said that he wasn’t nervous before the match but just amped. Edge explained that breaking out of a tag team into a singles wrestler was the most difficult thing in his career. Edge plugged his WWE Network show with Christian.

Edge’s retirement due to a neck injury was brought up. Edge said that he knew something was wrong with his neck for awhile leading up to his retirement. He found out the day after WrestleMania in 2011 that it his career was over.

Edge thanked ESPN for having him on the show, and this wrapped up the segment.
