— New Japan Pro Wrestling has reportedly announced a type of working developmental program similar to WWE Developmental promotion NXT. The announcement was made at a press conference earlier promoting the G1 Climax. The program has been dubbed the “Young Lions” program, which was described as being similar to WWE NXT. The program will have NJPW scouting talents and have a program for them in order to get experience inside the ring.

In addition, New Japan said they are officially partnering with other promotions in the US, including Ring of Honor, NWA and Global Force Wrestling. Per the report, WWE was not listed as a promotional partner like the other promotions mentioned were. Other international partnerships and deals confirmed by NJPW included Revolution Pro in the UK, CMLL in Mexico, and Germany’s WXW.
