Ring of Honor has announced that for the first time since their first champion was crowned in 2002, the ROH title is officially vacant. Jay Briscoe has left the company as he has reached his final date on his contract, as of the most recent TV taping in Baltimore.

There will be a tournament to crown a new champion that will take place at the following dates and cities:

7/27 in Providence, Rhode Island

8/3 in Toronto, Ontario

8/17 in New York City

9/20 in Philadelphia, PA

9/21 in Philadelphia, PA

Michael Elgin has been named as the first competitor.
