WWE was in Winter Park, FL at Full Sail University on Thursday night for the NXT TV tapings. Here are the spoilers.
— Jeet Rama defeats Chris Silvio in a dark match.
— Tyler Bate defeats Steve Cutler in a dark match.
Spoilers for the May 31st episode:
— Tommaso Ciampa walked down to the ring on crutches. He said that he is out here because he owes an explanation to Johnny Gargano. He invites Gargano to come to the ring but Gargano doesn’t come out, and Ciampa said that he is not here tonight. He noted that he suffered an injury on the Thursday before NXT Takeover: Chicago, but it didn’t matter because he was still going to fight. He said that people were thinking of dream partners for Gargano and that 24 hours after Takeover, fans forgot about him. He said that when he realized they lost he knew that he was injured and going away for a long time, he looked across at Gargano and it became clear. He said that if he went away, then Gargano would replace him. He didn’t want to become an afterthought and in that he made his choice. He said that it is the fan’s’ fault and it is Gargano’s fault that DIY is done. He said that if he had to go away, then Gargano had to go away with him. He said that Takeover: Chicago was supposed to be DIY’s moment, but it ended up being his moment. He said that he is irreplaceable, Gargano is irreplaceable, the fans are replaceable. He vowed that once he returns, then he will be the most dangerous man in professional wrestling and everyone is on notice.
— Singles Match: Pete Dunne defeats Danny Burch. Post-match, Dunne cuts a promo about how since January he had to watch some boy carry what was rightfully his. He said that history would remember that WWE UK began with the crowning of “The Bruiserweight” Pete Dunne.
— Singles Match: Cezar Bononi defeats Andrade Almas with a small package.
— Tag Team Match: Kassius Ohno & Roderick Strong defeated Eric Young & Alexander Wolfe. Post-match, SAnitY attacked Ohno and Strong until No Way Jose made his return and the save.
— Dana Warrior comes out to present a WWE Hero award to a teacher from Orlando for her charity work. This was likely a dark segment.
Spoilers for the June 7th episode:
— Tag Team Match: Heavy Machinery defeated Lars Sullivan & his partner. Post-match, Lars attacked his partner.
— Singles Match: Peyton Royce defeats Sara Logan (Crazy Mary Dobson).
— Singles Match: Hideo Itami vs. Oney Lorcan ends in a no contest when Itami hit the GTS three times to Lorcan. This led to Kassius Ohno walking down to the ring to calm down Itami, who then slapped Ohno. Ohno pushed Itami, who then left the ring. Ohno and referees checked on Lorcan before he was assisted to the backstage area.
— Singles Match: Killian Dain defeats No Way Jose.
— Roderick Strong walks out to the ring for a promo. He talks about how he told the people his story and they accepted him with open arms. He said that this isn’t just Roddy vs. The World anymore, it’s Roddy, Marina, and Troy vs. The World. He said that is now looking for the NXT Title. This led to Bobby Roode walking out and fake crying into a handkerchief. Roode said that Strong is finally winning matches and that he has a marginally hot fiancé. He said that Strong is trying to win the Bobby Roode lottery, but it doesn’t work that way in Roode’s NXT but rather Strong has to earn it. He said that Strong is a good hand and that he should just stay in his lane and one day they can take a selfie together. Roode told him to not play the Bobby Roode lottery because he’s just not man enough to win.
Spoilers for the June 14th episode:
— Singles Match: Drew McIntyre defeats Rob Ryzin.
— Singles Match: Ember Moon defeated Peyton Royce.
— Tag Team Match: Authors of Pain defeated Beastly Brody & his partner. Post-match, Paul Ellering cut a promo and said that Heavy Machinery is as foolish as they are big. He said that AOP had beat everyone and Heavy Machinery won’t even make a footnote. This led to Heavy Machinery walking out and having a staredown with AOP. Ellering and AOP left the ring to end the segment.
— Singles Match: The Velveteen Dream defeats Raul Mendoza
— Three-Way Elimination NXT Women’s Championship Match: Nikki Cross vs. Ruby Riot vs. Asuka ©. Riot was eliminated by Cross. Asuka and Cross fought to the back and the referee ruled the match a no contest. Post-match, they continued to brawl and eventually, they both fell from the scaffold.
