We can now confirm that Alberto El Patron is backstage at the TNA iMPACT! Wrestling TV tapings and will be debuting tonight. El Patron has signed a full-time deal with TNA after the two sides came to terms within the last few days. According to sources, he will be getting a “massive push” with the company.
As previously reported here on eWn, El Patron had been in talks with TNA Wrestling but talks stalled when Jeff Jarrett and Anthem took over the company. In recent weeks, the company reached back out and the two sides were able to reach a deal. Former (?) WWE “Diva” Paige, El Patron’s real-life girlfriend, is also backstage at the iMPACT! tapings. Paige reportedly quit WWE when she and El Patron were suspended in August of 2016 for violating the company wellness policy.
El Patron’s official TNA debut will take place next week as tonight’s show was taped several months ago.
As for the iMPACT! Wrestling announce team, Josh Mathews and “The Pope” will be calling the action on a weekly basis. Despite his earlier tweets, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross is not at tonight’s iMPACT! Wrestling TV tapings.
