Steve Corino recently appeared on Bill Apter’s podcast, Is Wrestling Fixed?, and during the interview, Corino was asked about the reports that he will be a coach at the WWE Performance Center in January. Here is what he had to say:
“Put me on the spot here! Here’s the deal. I am under contract with Ring of Honor until December 31st. Then I have commitments with New Japan Pro Wrestling that go until Wrestle Kingdom on January 4th. Korakuen Hall on January 5th. Then… let’s see what happens. I can’t predict what’s going to happen. I can only say the wrestling world over the last few years has just exploded in a misfit of broken rules. We don’t know who is working with who and surprises are always happening and stuff like that. Who knows where my next step is going to be? I’m not going to lie and say that I am not going to keep my options open and see what’s out there. I enjoy that everyone was prematurely thanking me and wishing me good luck and things like that. Right now, I’m under contract with Ring of Honor until December 31st. All of my sights are set on Final Battle on Friday in New York City. Saturday with ROH TV. Anything that ROH needs until that time. It’s not to say there won’t be a future with Ring of Honor. It’s not to say that there will be a future with Ring of Honor. Ring of Honor has been my home for so many years. People forget that I was on the first show and I’ve been bouncing in and out but I’ve been there straight for seven years. I have a huge love for Ring of Honor. A HUGE love for Ring of Honor and the people that are in it and the great athletes and staff. I wish I could tell you that we could break the internet with breaking news with stuff like that but Steve Corino is in Ring of Honor until December 31st, at least, and then NJPW for Wrestle Kingdom.”
