As covered here on eWn, NJPW star Katsuyori Shibata was injured in a match with Kazuchika Okada last month. During the match, there was a sequence of stiff headbutts between the two which caused Shibata to bleed from his forehead, resulting in major damage being done to Shibata’s head and was said to be paralyzed on one side of his body.
It was initially reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the injury was story-line, but later it was revealed that Shibata was seriously hurt. According to Shibata’s blog, he gave an update on his health and it did not look too good for the NJPW star.
