PWInsider is reporting that WWE’s applications for trademarks concerning Matt & Jeff Hardy were assigned to a trademark attorney on July 27th. Basically, its a short-cut past the three-month waiting period that applies to most of the applications. GFW as noted, filed for a trademark back in April and it was also assigned a trademark attorney on July 27th.
Both of WWE’s applications were denied initially because WWE did not have any consent from Matt and Jeff Hardy to trademark their names. The Hardy Boys quickly gave WWE consent to trademark their names when WWE’s applications were denied. WWE’s application for a trademark on The Hardy Boys name was filed in April and is set to be published for opposition to the public at the end of August.
