Triple H announced on Twitter that the upcoming WWE Women’s Tournament would be called the Mae Young Classic. Episodes of the 32-competitor women’s tournament, which will be similar to the Cruiserweight Classic, will be taped on July 13th and 14th in Winter Park, Florida at Full Sail University. Tickets for the tapings will go on sale this Friday at 10 am ET on NXTTickets.com.
It’s been reported that WWE is planning to hold the finals of the tournament on Tuesday, August 29th. It was also reported that the company is interested in using former Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Jade aka Mia Yim and Marti Belle for the tournament. There has been some talk of using Kennadi Brink and Candice LeRae for the tournament as well.
