Okay, I lied. I’m sorry guys, but a late-breaking news story in the world of MMA has made me go back on my word that the last MMA-related post to promote eFightNews.com here at eWN would be the final of the day.

So here’s the basic story, the planned UFC Heavyweight Championship main event at UFC 180 on November 15th (the UFC show that goes head-to-head with Bellator 131, which is the card that has Tito Ortiz vs. Stephan Bonnar, King Mo fighting and more) is off.

Originally, UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez was to defend his title against Fabricio Werdum, the number-one ranked UFC Heavyweight contender, both of whom are currently the coaches for the first ever season of The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America. That is no longer happening due to an injury suffered in training by Velasquez.

Now, UFC 180 will feature an “interim Heavyweight title” match, which Werdum will start be one-half of.

Read all of the details, including what the new main event of UFC 180 is, what injury Velasquez suffered and how it happened, plus read comments from Velasquez, Werdum and the new opponent for the interim title main event at UFC 180, by checking out this eFightNews.com article.

And I PROMISE — no matter WHAT else happens tonight, amazing breaking news or not, this is the final eFightNews promotional post that you will have to deal with. You’ve got my word on that!

Sorry again, fellas! Go easy on me in the comments section please! I’m just doing my job!
