We reported on Tuesday here on eWrestlingNews.com that Finn Balor had already arrived in Birmingham, Alabama to prepare for his surgery. According to a WWE.com article, Balor underwent successful surgery on Tuesday night to repair a torn labrum after suffering a dislocated shoulder during Sunday night’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view event.
In the WWE.com article, Dr. Jeffrey Dugas said that Balor’s injury was “more severe than normal” and that it did more damage than a standard shoulder dislocation. Dugas said,
“Finn’s injury was pretty severe, more severe than normal. A really high energy injury, it did more damage than a standard shoulder dislocation where you simply tear the labrum. The prognosis is excellent, however. We were able to fix it all and put it back where it came from. I’m anticipating him getting back at full speed.”
As seen during Monday’s WWE RAW broadcast, Balor relinquished the new WWE Universal Championship as he’s expected to miss between four to six months of in-ring action.
