UPDATE: As noted late last night here on the website, with Carlos Colon heading into the WWE Hall of Fame, there has been speculation that WWE would be buying the World Wrestling Council’s video library to integrate it into their own WWE Network, DVDs and more.

In an update on this, Colon was interviewed a few days ago by “Primera Hora,” and when the topic of the library being seen on the WWE Network was discussed, Colon noted that his family is “seriously considering the idea of selling footage.”

ORIGINAL: As seen on last week’s WWE SmackDown broadcast, WWE announced that Carlos Colon would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2014. The induction apparently has to do with WWE’s expansion of their Network.

As we’ve been reporting, WWE is planning to expand the Network internationally early next year and they are in need of some Spanish language programming. With that being said, we’re told they are in the process of purchasing the World Wrestling Council (WWC) tape collection from Puerto Rico.

According to sources, WWC feels that they can make a lot of money by selling their tape collection and WWE is definitely interested. The company was close to “going under” several years ago but refused to sell the tape library. The induction of Colon is said to be part of the deal for WWE to get the WWC library.

We’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
