As heavily covered here on EWrestlingNews.com and seen on NXT Takeover: Orlando last night, former TNA World Champion, Drew Galloway, but in WWE known as Drew McIntyre was live in Orlando at Takeover. His appearance was sort of a last minute shock because rumors of “Indy” talents (although McIntyre was in WWE previously) coming to WWE would usually be publicized.
According to The Wrestling Observer, Drew McIntyre’s deal came at the last minute which could possibly mean McIntyre showed up to Orlando to discuss the deal with Triple H that day or the day prior about signing with the company.
The Wrestling Observer also reported that the reason behind the surprise signing was so that NXT could have someone to fill the place of superstar Shinsuke Nakamura, who is rumored to debut either the RAW or SD Live after WrestleMania. There have also been rumors that McIntyre could be a possible UK Champion once that show gets its start-up.
McIntyre is only 31 years old and has made a name for himself building his brand during his time away from WWE and although the run may not have been the best in the past, the future only looks bright for Drew McIntyre.
