Ware, Hertfordshire, UK (PRWEB UK) 11 November 2013

World of Sport Wrestling, an iconic British ITV brand, is set to make a comeback on Sunday 17th November 2013 at Croydon’s Fairfield Halls.

ITV’s World of Sport Wrestling broadcast from 1965 to 1985, drawing an average viewership of 8.5 million fans every week. At its peak an audience of 18 million tuned in for the 1981 clash between Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks at Wembley. Other British wrestlers such as Mick McManus, Jackie “Mr TV” Pallo, Kendo Nagasaki, Les Kellett, and “Bomber” Pat Roach all became household names. So popular was World of Sport Wrestling that a 1968 event held at the Royal Albert Hall featured Prince Phillip, the Duke of Edinburgh, as a guest of honour.

The event is being taped for ITV in advance of World of Sport’s 50th anniversary in 2015. The event marks the first new World of Sport Wrestling taping in 28 years.

Tickets for this family friendly event are priced at £12 adults, £10 concessions, and £40 for a family of four. Tickets may be purchased via woswrestling.com, or alternatively telephone the Fairfield Halls box office on 020 8688 9291 (booking fee may apply).
