WWE are asking fans to alert them to impostor accounts on Twitter. In recent weeks, superstars such as Triple H, The Undertaker, Sheamus and Cody Rhodes have all been heavily featured on WWE programming but none have a Twitter account. This has prompted some fans to pretend to be WWE superstars and achieve thousands of followers.
Under the regulations laid out by Twitter, pretending to be someone else is not permitted but parody accounts are. WWE is asking fans to alert them to impostor accounts by tweeting them (@WWE) with the hashtag #WWEImpostor. WWE are actively clamping down on fake accounts and will contact Twitter about any impostors to get them closed.
