They lock up and do some mat wrestling to start things off. Miz slapped him and Ambrose landed a series of strikes in the corner but was warned about the stipulation. Ambrose with a series of chops and then clotheslines him to the floor. Ambrose sent him into the barricade as well as the apron. Ambrose grabbed a chair but threw it down and Miz caught him with a kick.
Miz was going to hit Ambrose with a chair but Ambrose kicked him. Miz hit a DDT on the apron and then locked in a headlock. The fans got behind Ambrose and he fought out of the lock but Miz cut him off with a neck breaker for 2. Miz caught with a knee strike then landed some more strikes. Miz hit three dropkicks and a clothesline in the corner. Ambrose kicked him in the gut when blocking a dive by Miz then sent him to the floor. Ambrose went to the top rope and hit an elbow drop off the top rope. Back in the ring, Ambrose hit a series of clotheslines then a suplex for 2. Miz blocked a bulldog but Ambrose rolled him up for 2 then hit a neck breaker for another near fall. Miz put him in the corner and landed a series of kicks to the hamstring to Ambrose. Miz went for the Figure Four Leg Lock but Ambrose got to the bottom rope. Ambrose went to the top rope but Miz knocked him down.
Ambrose went for a powerbomb but Miz ripped off the top turnbuckle. Miz got out of it and hit a drop kick for 2. Miz landed a series of kicks but Ambrose caught the last kick and locked in the Figure Four Leg Lock. Miz got to the bottom rope to break the hold. They hobbled around and Ambrose hit a clothesline. Maryse got on the apron and Miz told her to slap him, which she did. The referee sent Maryse to the back.
Ambrose rolled up Miz for 2. Miz sent Ambrose into the referee, who got up right away. The referee was about to ring the bell and this distracted Ambrose, which led to Miz hitting the Skull Crushing Finale for the win.
Winner: The Miz – new Intercontinental Champion.
