UPDATE x 3: WWE has issued the following
statement on Ric Flair’s condition:

WWE Legend Ric Flair is recovering from successful
surgery and will miss tomorrow’s scheduled guest referee appearance at
SmackDown. Ric is doing well and we look forward to him returning to WWE in the
near future.

UPDATE x 2: As previously reported, WWE Hall Of
Famer Ric Flair has been hospitalized in Georgia for several days due to a
series of health issues which resulted in some minor surgeries.

Flair is currently still hospitalized and despite being advertised
for this week’s SmackDown taping, he is no longer scheduled to appear. He was
also scheduled to appear at Sunday’s Night Of Champions pay-per-view, however
that seems to be off as well.

UPDATE: Flair underwent “several minor
surgeries” last week. He is currently hospitalized in Georgia, and the surgeries
were described as “not life threatening”. Flair was advertised to appear at
tomorrow’s SmackDown tapings as a special referee and was also scheduled to
appear at the Night of Champions PPV. He is expected to miss both dates, and WWE
is expected to make an official announcement on WWE.com about Flair’s health
later today.

ORIGINAL: Ric Flair was scheduled to appear at
NXT Takeover 2, but was pulled for “personal reasons”. It was believed that
Flair would introduce KENTA, who is now Hideo Itami.

A new report from Overtime Nation
claims that Flair was hospitalized in the Gwinneth Medical Center in
Lawrenceville, Georgia. He was confirmed to be at the hospital on September 9,
two days before NXT Takeover. There is no confirmation on why Flair was
hospitalized, but word is that it may have been for stomach surgery. Flair has
visited Gwinneth at least twice this month.

Flair is still scheduled to be the referee for the dark match at
tomorrow’s SmackDown taping, which is Randy Orton vs Roman Reigns.
