While HGH or human growth hormone is a banned substance for the WWE, many
wrestling organizations do not test for the substance since it is harder to
detect with standard urine tests. HGH has become a topic of discussion due to
the recent drug test failure of UFC fighter Cung Le, who tested positive for
excessive amounts of HGH after his fight with Michael Bisping at UFC Fight Night
48 in August.

According to sources, WWE does not test for HGH even though it is on the
banned substance list. The setback with the tests is that testing for HGH is
expensive, and previous drug tests for HGH were unreliable. Unless the user is
caught quickly after injecting the substance, it is harder to detect.

In the Ultimate Warrior documentary on the WWE Network, Vince McMahon
mentioned that Warrior and British Bulldog were experimenting with HGH before
both were let go from the company in 1992.
