— John Cena is set to appear at the opening day of Wizard World Comic Con in Chicago. Wizard World announced via press released Cena will be the special guest for opening day on August 9. He will appear from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM to meet fans, sign autographs and pose for professional photo ops. The convention runs from the 9th through the 12th. “I am looking forward to meeting the enthusiastic fans at my first Wizard World event,” said Cena. “I have heard a lot about the charged-up atmosphere, and I can’t wait to experience it for myself.”
— Twitter has announced that WWE will be one of twelve companies enabled with multimedia embedding capabilities as part of a new platform.
A post on Twitter’s company blog noted that followers of content partners “can now see content previews, view images, play videos and more.” Initial content partners include The New York Times, Der Spiegel, WWE, The San Francisco Chronicle, BuzzFeed, TMZ, MSNBC, The Wall Street Journal, Time, Lifetime, BET, and Dailymotion. The expanded tweets program was launched on twitter.com and mobile.twitter.com today and will be expanded to mobile and tablet apps next week; there is no word on whether Twitter-owned TweetDeck will be upgraded to include this functionality.
