Tragedy struck the professional wrestling world as Silver King died during his match.

Lucha Blog took to twitter confirming the unfortunate news that he had suffered a health issue later confirmed as being a heart attack.

Silver King had performed for various promotions since 1985 such as CMLL, AAA and WCW. He was also notable for playing the role of golden masked luchador “Ramses” in the 2006 Jack Black film Nacho Libre.

The Lucha Libre legend was competing against Juventud Guerrera in London on Saturday. After complications from his match he died at age 51.

During the match King had hit the ropes and connected with a flying clothesline on Guerrera. After Guerrera kicked out of a pin attempt Silver King’s body appeared to shut down completely. CPR was administered in the ring and the remainder of the show was canceled.

The staff here at eWn would like to send our condolences to the family of César Cuauhtémoc González Barrón (Silver King).

There are videos circulating of the in-ring tragedy. However, we will not be posting them here as I believe it to be in poor taste.

Here are some matches featuring Silver King Below:

*At WCW Fall Brawl 98 these two Luchadores competed against eachother before this tragedy roughly 21 years later.
