Ray continues to avoid a lockup, going into the ropes and out to the apron a second time. Ray walks out to the ring steps. Rey tells the ref to tell the fans to shut up. Ray gets back into the ring, and avoids a third lock up, but on his way out, Aries kicks the second rope into Ray's crotch. Aries beats on Ray in the corner, then catches him with a big boot. Aries launches himself off the second rope, but Ray catches him and slams him down. Ray spits in Aries' face, so Aries slaps Ray and beats on him with repeated rights in the corner. Aries charges right into a back elbow and is laid out. Ray goes for a stomp, but Aries avoids it and bites the calf. Aries is back dropped to the apron, but he snaps Ray's neck across the top. Aries goes up to the top, but Ray catches him with a huge boot that sends him sailing to the outside and crashing into the barricade.
Aries back has immediately started welting up and bruising. Aries is slow to make his way back into the ring, and when he does, Ray turns his attention right to Aries' back. Ray lays in with some huge clubbing blows to Aries' back, slowing down the pace greatly. Ray stomps away at Aries in the corner before gloating to the crowd. Ray picks Aries up and slams him down to the mat hard. Aries pulls himself up to his feet and finds himself trapped in a bear hug from Ray. Aries fights out of the hold, and runs right into a big back body drop.
Ray catches Aries with a big chop to the chest, but Aries pops up and asks for more. Ray hits another chop, but Aries it up again, hitting him with a big right hand, and a series of forearms. Ray comes back with another chop and tells Aries to stay down. Aries refuses, getting back up and hitting a couple of chops of his own. Ray rakes Aries' eyes, then hits an elbow to the top of the head. Aries hits Ray with a shoulder to the gut and a couple of elbows to the top of the head of his own. Aries drags Ray's face across the top rope, leaps over the big man, and takes him into the corner. Aries runs into a big boot and eats a urunage from Ray, but it's not enough to keep Aries down for three.
Aries counters out of something and kicks away at Ray, but he ends up eating a pop-up ace crusher, but it's still not enough to keep Aries down for three and Ray is livid. Ray grabs a chain, but Joseph Park runs to the front, saying Ray can't do that. Ray pulls Park into the ringside area and grabs a chair, but Aries hits Ray with the heat seeking missile. Ray stumbles back into the ring, and turns around into a top rope missile dropkick. Aries charges in with a dropkick in the corner before hitting a big brainbuster. Aries goes for the pin, but Ray kicks out at two.
Ray tries for a powerbomb, but Aries counters out and locks in the last chancery, forcing Ray to tap out.

- We get another Impact recap where we see Daniels and Kazarian accusing AJ Styles of having some sort of affair with Dixie Carter to achieve his status in the company.
Backstage:
JB is backstage with AJ Styles. Styles says this isn't the first time he's wrestled Kurt Angle, and if he's not 100% focused on Angle, he doesn't stand a chance. He's not here to talk about photos, or Kaz or Daniels or Dixie. He's here to wrestle Kurt Angle.
This leads into a video package that details the events between Kurt Angle and AJ Styles, as well as Christopher Daniels and Kazarian, that led directly to this match.
Kurt Angle vs. AJ Styles
The bell rings and both men begin circling. Styles goes for Angle's leg, and the two wrestle down to the mat. Neither man gain an advantage before Styles rolls out of the hold. Kurt takes AJ down to the mat and the two wrestle for a bit before Styles bails to the outside.
Styles drops his knee pad and tells Styles to go for it. Angle drops to his knees and Styles kicks him in the chest. Styles beats on Angle in the corner. Styles tries for a suplex but Angle counters. Angle tries for a belly to belly suplex, but Styles fights out and rolls up Angle. Styles tries for the Styles clash, but Angle counters, trying for the ankle lock. Styles kicks him away, and the fans cheer.
Another lock up and Angle puts on a headlock. Styles fights out of it, but falls to a shoulder block and finds himself on the mat in another side headlock. Styles fights up to his feet and out of the hold, sending Angle into the corner, but he runs into a back elbow and is taken down with another side headlock.
Styles fights to his feet, sending Angle into the ropes and he follows it up with a beautiful dropkick. Styles picks up Angle and slams him to the mat before following with a knee drop that's good for a two count. Styles tries for the Styles clash but Angle fights it off, so AJ hits a powerbomb instead. Styles pins Angle for two, then goes right into a rear chin lock.
Angle fights off the hold, but ends up sent out to the arena floor by AJ. Styles goes over the top, but Angle avoids it and catches him. Styles counters a German suplex on the floor by landing on his feet and hitting Angle with a right. Back in the ring, Styles misses a splash and Angle hits a belly to belly suplex to send Styles across the ring. Kurt lays in with a big right hand and a nasty set of boots.
Angle chokes Styles in the ropes before the ref forces a break. Angle snap mares AJ and locks in a seated bear hug, squeezing AJ's back and midsection. Styles fights up to his feet, but runs right into a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker that's good for another two count. Angle goes right into a body scissors, putting more pressure on Styles' gut.
