Impact Wrestling (8/5) Results: EC3 vs. Matt Hardy

The No Surrender special opened up with a tribute video dedicated to the late “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. We then transitioned to a special video package hyping up tonight’s event.

We cut to Bram coming out with Mr. Anderson’s mic and it looks like the first match of the night is about to start.

Singles Match: Bram vs. Mr. Anderson

Anderson charges the ring and the two trade punches inside the ring. Anderson gets the better of Bram and clotheslines him over the top rope. He slams Bram on the ring post and rams his back on the apron. They wind up on the outside again and this time Bram shoves Anderson into the ring post and then the stairs. Anderson delivered a clothesline and threw his opponent back in the ring.

Anderson went for a Green Bay Plunge, but Bram held onto the ropes to avoid it. After some more outside brawling, they wind up back inside the ring. Anderson landed the Green Bay Plunge for a two-count. He goes for a swanton, but is superplexed. Bram went to use Anderson’s mic against him, but Anderson small packaged him for the victory.

Winner: Mr. Anderson

After the match Bram attacked Anderson with the mic. He mocked Anderson and called him “Mr. Pathetic.”

Jeremy Borash is in the back interviewing Matt and Jeff Hardy. Matt says tonight is the night he wins the TNA heavyweight title. Jeff says he’s no disappointment and that tonight is Matt’s night.

-Commercial Break-

James Storm is out alone with his cowbell. Storm says Khoya failed him multiple times. He says those who fail him will pay for their mistakes. He calls Khoya out. Khoya makes his way out with his stick. Storm slaps the stick out of Khoya’s hand. He says he made Khoya who he is today and slaps him. Storm keeps slapping Khoya down and says he’s just like the people in the crowd.

Khoya nails Storm with a Sky High. Khoya says he’s proud of his people and tells Storm to never touch him again. He says his name is not Khoya, it’s Mahabali Shera.

We are shown a video package of the Dollhouse and Gail Kim feud.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back from the break and Storm is livid backstage. He challenges Shera to a match later tonight.

Knockouts Handicap Match: Dollhouse vs. Gail Kim

Kim faces Marti Bell to start the bout. She evades Jade’s interference and throws her into Bell. Taryn distracts Kim, allowing Bell to clothesline Kim from behind. Taryn gets the tag to pin Kim, but only gets a two-count and immediately tags in Jade.

Kim gets her momentum back. Tayrn blasts Bell in the jaw with a forearm accidentally in a failed double team attempt. Kim scares Taryn out of the Impact Zone and eventually lands Eat Defeat on Bell.

Winner: Gail Kim

Drew Galloway says Eli Drake will pay for his betrayal in a video package.

-Commercial Break-

Singles Match: Drew Galloway vs. Eli Drake

Galloway rushed to the outside and pounced on Drake. He threw his former Rising partner over the steel steps. Galloway exposed the concrete, but Drake reversed and went for a powerbomb. Galloway reversed it with a back body drop. Galloway landed a clothesline off the steps.

Back in the ring, Galloway went for the Future Shock DDT, but Drake escaped. Drake eventually rammed his opponent’s shoulder into the ring post. Galloway hits Drake with a German suplex in the corner. Drake put a thumb to Galloway’s eye and held on to his opponent’s tights for the win.

Winner: Eli Drake

Bully Ray speaks with Brian Hebner in the back. He tells him that once Brian’s father returns, he will take over as senior referee. Bobby Roode comes in and expresses his displeasure for Austin Aries putting his career on the line against Spud tonight. Roode says he’ll do everything to ensure Aries wins tonight, while Ray says he’ll make sure the best man wins.

-Commercial Break-

Rockstar’ Name vs. Career Singles Match: Austin Aries vs. Rockstar Spud

Aries wrestles around Spud and locks in Last Chancery. Spud quickly gets to the ropes. Aries lands an arm drag and pops Spud with a knee in the corner. Aries connected with a slingshot senton, but only gets a two-count. Spud gets a jawbreaker, but Aries connects with a missile dropkick. Spud lands a series of forearms, and eventually an enziguri.

Aries is able to synch up Last Chancery a second time, but once again Spud gets out of it. Aries’ brainbuster is reversed into a small package, but kicks out. After some stiff elbows and a dropkick in the corner, Aries plants Spud with a brainbuster. Spud kicks out at the count of two. Aries places Spud on the top turnbuckle, but Spud connected with the Underdog for the win.

Winner: Rockstar Spud

Aries and Spud hugged after the match.

-Commercial Break-

Roode and Aries are in the back. Roode says he’s a bit speechless. Aries he hates leaving Roode, but they’ll be okay. They shake hands and we cut to Storm vs. Shera.

Singles Match: James Storm vs. Mahabali Shera

Storm is on the attack immediately. He slaps Shera multiple times and Shera gets enraged and clotheslines his opponent three times. Storm then clocks Shera over the head with his cowbell.

Winner: Mahabali Shera

We cut to Bully Ray who is down backstage and looks out of it.

-Commercial Break-

Dixie Carter and Jeff Jarrett are seen at the TNA office in Nashville. Both of them heard what happened to Bully. Jeff offered to help take over the show for one week for both TNA and Global Force Wrestling.

EC3 is in the back with Tyrus. EC3 says he is unbreakable and that the money always lies with Ethan Carter III. Both competitors then make their entrances.

-Commercial Break-

Full Metal Mayhem TNA Heavyweight Title Match: EC3 vs. Matt Hardy

Hardy lands a clothesline to EC3 in the corner. He goes for the side effect, but EC3 elbows his way out of it and hits Hardy with a clothesline. EC3 attacks the ribs and back of Hardy with a chair. The champion sits on the chair and punches Hardy in the head. EC3’s cockiness gets the better of him and he is planted with a side effect on the chair.

Hardy puts a ladder in the ring and nails EC3 with it. The challenger climbs the ladder but is blasted in the leg with a chair.

-Commercial Break-

EC3 climbs up the ladder, but is pushed off and is seated in the lower corner. Hardy obliterates the champion’s manhood with a ladder. Hardy is pushed off the ladder, but he lands on his feet and hits the Twist of Fate. Hardy places EC3 on a table and attempts a moonsault, but the champion chopped at his legs and powerbombed him through a table.

The champion climbs the ladder, but Hardy powerbombs him off of it. The two eventually fight on the ring apron and Hardy lands a side effect. Hardy then places EC3 on a table once more, but this time he connects with a leg drop off the top turnbuckle.

Hardy goes back in the ring and climbs up the ladder. Like earlier, EC3 whacks Hardy on the leg with a chair. Hardy hangs on as EC3 climbs up. Hardy grabs the title, but EC3 takes out Hardy’s leg and pulls the title down for the win.

Winner and still TNA heavyweight champion: EC3
