Impact Wrestling Results For September 9th, 2015: Lumberjack Match

A recap of GFW’s hostile takeover last week is shown. We are then taken to Josh Matthews and “The Pope” who talk about TNA’s future being at stake in next week’s episode of Impact Wrestling.

EC3 is out with Tyrus. He says he doesn’t care about the GFW’s takeover and that all that matters is he is still the TNA heavyweight champion. He brought out his new personal assistant, Jeff Hardy. EC3 stopped his music from playing and said Jeff is to walk to the ring in complete silence. He demands Jeff gives he and Tyrus water. EC3 splashes Jeff with the water. Tyrus pulls out a placard of EC3’s head and Jeff is told he must hold it up at all times. After some more fooling around, EC3 announces he and Tyrus vs. Matt Hardy and Rockstar Spud in a tag team match.

-Commercial Break-

Tag Team Match: EC3 & Tyrus vs. Matt Hardy & Rockstar Spud

The match starts off with Matt and Tyrus after EC3 pretends to be the match starter. EC3 eventually tags back in and gets blasted with punches by Matt. Spud attempts “Poetry in Motion,” but EC3 catches him. Spud is able to mount some offense on the world champion before getting dumped to the outside. Later on, EC3 uses Jeff as a shield and then low blows Matt. EC3 tells Jeff to hit Spud with a chair, but he refuses. Tyrus hits his finisher, the ICU on Spud anyway for the win.

Winners: EC3 & Tyrus

We see a recap of The Wolves losing their tag titles to Brian Meyers & Trevor Lee last week. The Wolves and Drew Galloway discuss the GFW invasion in the back. The Wolves say they will win back the titles tonight.

The Dollhouse is in the back and Taryn Terrell says she is sick of Velvet Sky. She tells her group to take out one of the Beautiful People.

-Commercial Break-

Madison Rayne is in the back and is cut off by The Dollhouse. She is attacked, but Angelina Love and Velvet Sky try to make the save. Off camera, Love is injured by a chair shot from Jade.

Jeff and Karen Jarrett are out. Jeff says it bothers him that a TNA talent is the King of the Mountain champion. Jeff demands Bobby Roode give back the title. Roode is out and says he earned the title and the belt belongs to TNA. Jeff says he’ll give Roode

One more chance to surrender the belt or else. Roode takes off his shirt and places the belt on a turnbuckle. Karen says both men are acting like children. She says Dixie and TNA are outnumbered. She tells Roode to think things over and exits the ring with Jeff.

In the back, Eli Drake, Kenny King, and Jesse Godderz get on Galloway’s case for being Dixie’s friend. Robbie E, Tigre Uno, and Micah brawl with Drake, King, and Godderz.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back from the break and EC3 expresses his disappointment in Jeff for not hitting Spud with a chair earlier. He tells Jeff to sell his EC3 merchandise.

Six-Man Tag Team Match: Robbie E, Tigre Uno, & Micah vs. Kenny King, Eli Drake, & Jesse Godderz

The teams brawl inside the ring immediately. King tries to chop Micah, but receives a clothesline for his efforts. Robbie E and Godderz are in the ring and Robbie gets in a hip toss. Drake is tagged in and is quickly thrown inside by Robbie. Uno lands a crossbody on Drake when he is tagged in. Eventually, Robbie hits the Boom Drop on Godderz for the win.

Winners: Robbie E, Tigre Uno, & Micah

-Commercial Break-

TNA Knockouts Title Match: Brooke © vs. Gail Kim

Gail gets in a headlock early, but Brooke exchanges with her own holds. Brooke gets Gail to the outside momentarily. Brooke gets dragged out and the two trade forearms. Back in the ring, Gail catches a crossbody, but is rolled up for a two-count. Brooke lands a facebuster by leaping from the top turnbuckle, but Gail kicks out. She goes for it again, but Gail pushes her off and gets in a submission hold. Brooke reverses into a rear chinlock. Gail rolls her up, but fails to get a three-count.

Lei D’ Tapa and Royal Red are out. Brooke knocks Tapa down, but she is blasted with a shot from her own title.

Winner and still TNA Knockouts Champion (via DQ): Brooke

Tapa gets in the ring and Gail fights her off before getting nailed with a big boot and a TKO. Awesome Kong takes out Tapa with a scoop slam and a spinning backfist, followed by a clothesline to send her outside the ring.

Backstage, the GFW crew are pumping up Meyers and Lee for their upcoming tag team title match.

-Commercial Break-

Jeff Hardy thanks Galloway for his leadership while TNA is being invaded. EC3 tells Jeff to clean his and Tyrus’ gear.

TNA Tag Team Title Match: The Wolves © vs. Brian Myers & Trevor Lee

The Wolves attack the champions before they even enter the ring. They land three suicide dives in a row. Lee reverses Eddie Edwards’ crossbody midair and gets a two-count. Meyers and Lee double-team Edwards before he rolls out and tags in Davey Richards. Richards lands a superplex for a two-count. Edwards gets Lee in a powerbomb position and Richards brings down Lee with two knees to the back.

Referee Brian Hebner counts to two, but Sonjay Dutt pulls him out and punches him. Earl Hebner comes out and nails Sonjay with a punch. The Wolves land a Tombstone Piledriver on Lee to win back the tag team titles.

Winners and new TNA Tag Team Champions: The Wolves

Chris Melendez is in the back walking with crutches. He is asked what he’s here for. Melendez says Eric Young hasn’t won the war.

-Commercial Break-

Melendez makes his way down the entrance ramp. He calls out EY, who comes out with Melendez’s prosthetic leg. EY claims Kurt Angle isn’t wrestling right now because of all the Piledrivers he’s taken. EY accepts another match with Melendez before pushing him down. EY says Melendez will never get his leg back.

Galloway is asked about his lumberjack match tonight. He says Chris Mordetzky will learn payback is a bitch.

-Commercial Break-

Josh Matthews interviews Mahabali Shera. Shera says Manik was the first one to welcome him in America. He says James Storm is a bad man and that he’s not part of his Revolution. He promises he will show the world who he is.

Lumberjack Match: Drew Galloway vs. Chris Mordetzky

The ringside area is surrounded by The Wolves, Lashley, Brian Meyers, Trevor Lee, Sonjay Dutt, and Scott D’Amore. Mordetzky gets some offense in early. Galloway knocks him down with a clothesline.

-Commercial Break-

Mordetzky taunts the TNA lumberjacks and locks in a camel clutch. Galloway tries mounting a comeback, but his eyes are raked. Mordetzky hits the Sky High, but Galloway kicks out at two. Later on, Galoway hits the Future Shock, but doesn’t go for the pin. He sizes up Mordetzky when Meyers and Lee pull him out. The Wolves land a suicide dive on the GFW talent. Jeff Jarrett tries to hit Galloway with a guitar, but EY takes it from him and nails Galloway with it. This allows Mordetzky to get the pin.

Winner: Chris Mordetzky
