TNA Destination X (6/10) Results: Angle vs. Spud

We kick off Destination X with TNA world champion Kurt Angle warming up in the back. We cut to his challenger, Rockstar Spud who is also preparing for the title match.

Christy Hemme announced that it’s time for the first world title match of the night, but EC3’s music hits. He storms the ring with Tyrus. EC3 grabs a mic and complains that he’s the number one contender, yet he’s in neither title match. He demands a chair and says he is stopping Destination X from going on until he gets his title match. He dares anyone to interrupt him and Angle makes his entrance.

Angle gets in EC3’s face and tells him to shut his damn mouth. He calls EC3 a “whiny bitch.” EC3 says Angle is lucky he doesn’t end his career. Angle dares him to try and says he will snap his ankle in two. EC3 leaves the ring and Tyrus follows. Spud comes out as Tyrus restrains EC3.

-Commercial Break-

TNA World Title Match: Kurt Angle © vs. Rockstar Spud

They lock horns and Angle uses his amateur wrestling style to keep Spud grounded. He gets a headlock on the challenger. The crowd is urging Spud to fight out of it. Spud escapes and throws Angle in the corner. Spud gets a drop toehold on the champion and lands a missile dropkick. Angle is on the outside and Spud attempts a dive from the apron. Angle catches him and lands a vicious belly to belly suplex.

Spud puts together a combination of punches and knocks Angle down. The champion charges at Spud but is thrown out the ring. With Angle still down, Spud goes to the top turnbuckle and hits a senton. They both return to the ring. Spud goes up the top turnbuckle, but Angle leaps and lands a belly to belly suplex for a two-count. Spud gets out of the Angle Slam but winds up in the Ankle Lock. Spud gets out of it and reverses another Angle Slam.

Spud connects with the Underdog and Angle barely kicks out. Angle is able to latch on another Ankle Lock and Spud taps.

Winner and still TNA world champion: Kurt Angle

After the match, Angle raises Spud’s arm. Austin Aries stands on the ramp holding his Feast or Fired briefcase.

-Commercial Break-

The Dollhouse is out. Taryn says she is the sexiest knockout in TNA. She says Awesome Kong needs to compete in a lingerie pillow fight if she wants a title shot.

We are shown a video hyping up the X Division title qualifiers. The clip showcased many wrestlers, even Grado.

Triple Threat X-Division Qualifier Match: Low Ki vs. Manik vs. Crazzy Steve

Low Ki goes tumbling out the ring as a result of Manik and Steve getting the better of him. Manik attempts a suicide dive, but Low Ki kicks him. Manik with a snapnare into a dropkick on Steve. Steve ducks a clothesline and jumps on Manik. Low Ki nails a springboard dropkick and his opponents go down.

Steve misses a dive from the top rope. Manik holds Steve for the double team, but Low Ki’s dropkick is hard enough to knock both of them into the corner. With Manik down, Low Ki lands the double foot stomp and gets the win.

Winner: Low Ki

-Commercial Break-

Grado is seen in the back. He does some squats. He says he needs to prove to everyone that he is the X Division. He says he has to lose some weight. He even has a miserable attempt at parkour.

A recap of Storm pushing Mickie James off a train platform is shown. We are reassured that Mickie is okay and only suffered some injuries.

Triple Threat X-Division Qualifier Match: Tigre Uno vs. DJ Z vs. Mark Andrews

Andrews is dropkicked out of the ring by DJ Z. He gets the better of Uno inside the ring. Andrews is back in and he’s on the offensive. He misses a kick on Z and pays for it in the form of an atomic drop. Uno lands a dropkick from the top rope on both men. With Z on the middle rope, Uno lifts Andrews in the air, and Z jumps off to spear him.

Uno lands a diving leg drop to the groin of Z. Andrews goes for a suplex on Uno, but misses. Andrews lands a tornado DDT on Uno. Plancha hurricanrana from Andrews lands on Uno. Z takes advantage with a senton plancha on both men. The crowd is behind DJ Z.

Uno pushes Z off the top rope. Andrews is down and Uno heads up the top turnbuckle. He hits Andrews with the Sabertooth Splash and wins the match.

Winner: Tigre Uno

Jessie Godderz runs out and clotheslines Z on the outside. He throws Z back inside the ring and stomps on him. He powerbombs Z to the corner. Godderz picks Z up over his head and throws him outside the ring.

Taryn is holding her Knockouts title backstage and is making her way out for her match.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back from the break and Grado is cutting weight. He sees Tigre Uno and asks him a bunch of questions such as how to perform his Sabretooth Splash. He then says he has to go. As he leaves, Uno says, “what a jackass.”

Taryn is out in her robe with Marti Bell and Jade. A pink bed is in the middle of the ring. Taryn says it’s time for the sexiest match of the night. She says what she has under her robe, will get everyone’s blood pumping in a “whole new way.” She calls Awesome Kong to come down and accept her challenge of a lingerie pillow fight.

Kong is out and she isn’t wearing lingerie. Taryn says Kong is ruining playtime. Bell says they got her something pretty to wear and tells her to go back and put it on. Kong drags Bell and Jade outside the ring and pummels them. Taryn declares herself the winner and demands it be made official.

Out comes Brooke and she says Taryn promised to show off her lingerie as well as a title match. Brooke says she has no problem taking the challenge. Taryn says she suggests Brooke leaves before she is humiliated. Brooke nails a forearm on Taryn and takes off her robe. Brook says she will take Taryn’s Knockouts title just like she took her robe.

The Dirty Heels are in the back. Bobby Roode asks Aries if he is ready for his world title opportunity. Roode says when Aries wins, he gets the first shot. Aries agrees and says, “of course.”

-Commercial Break-

We’re back and Grado gets on the scale to weigh himself. He strips to make the required weight for the X Division qualifier. Jeremy Borash reminds Grado that there has never been a weight limit in the X Division and it’s about no limits.

Triple Threat X Division Qualifier Match: Kenny King vs. Cruz vs. Grado

King immediately punches Grado and goes after Cruz. Springboard armdrag for Cruz connects on King. Spinning roundhouse kick for King lands on Grado. King calls Grado a chump as he kicks him. Cruz tries to german suplex Grado, but it just isn’t going to happen. King nails Grado with a big boot. Cruz goes on the top turnbuckle and lands on King. He connects with a springboard crossbody, followed by a hurricanrana.

King reverses Cruz’s tornado DDT into the Royal Flush. King tries to lift Grado, but hurts his back. Grado hits King with multiple elbows to the head. King is launched over the top rope by Grado. Grado hits a cannonball on Cruz in the corner and gets the pinfall.

Winner: Grado

For some reason, Bram has attacked a cameraman backstage. He says he hates Destination X and calls it a stupid name. He says his destination is to head to the ring and make history. Alrighty then.

-Commercial Break-

Bram is in the ring with a mic in his hand. He says he hates history and the past. He’s calling out any past TNA star. Crimson’s music hits and we have a match.

Singles Match: Bram vs. Crimson

Crimson goes after Bram, landing punches from full mount. He hits a suplex and a back bodydrop on Bram. Bram dares Crimson to meet him outside the ring. Crimson obliges and sends him right back inside. Bram leaves the ring and paces around. The fans chant, “angry jesus,” which puts a smile on Bram’s face.

Bram sends Crimson crashing into the guardrails. Bram keeps smashing Crimson’s face into the guardrails. The referee urges Bram to get back in the ring. They’re back inside and Bram keeps punching his opponent in the head. Bram rolls on the floor and someone yells, “you’re not Bray Wyatt!” Bram bites Crimson’s hand and the ref seems perfectly content with it, just like he was with the guardrail attacks. Bram then lands The Brighter Side of Suffering for the win.

Winner: Bram

-Commercial Break-

EC3 sarcastically congratulates Angle on his successful title defense over Spud. He says when he throws the first punch, Angle won’t get up.

TNA World Title Match: Kurt Angle © vs. Austin Aries

The bell rings and Angle and Aries are in a stalemate. Angle once again tries to apply the amateur wrestling he executed on Spud, but Aries seems to have a counter for everything. Angle is in control of Aries in the corner. Aries nails Angle with a clothesline. “A Double” reverses a german suplex by landing on his feet and hits a dropkick.

-Commercial Break-

We are greeted to a senton plancha from Aries as we return from the break. Elbow to Angle’s back from the second rope connects. As Aries applies a rest hold, the crowd is on “Double A’s” side. Angle blocks two suplex attmepts and goes for one himself. Aries reverses it and applies another headlock, but Angle counters with a backdrop.

Belly to belly connects for Angle. The Olympic gold medalist hits three german suplexes on the challenger. Aries reverses the Angle Slam into a DDT, but fails to get a three-count. Aries quickly latches on Last Chancery. Angle powers out and gets in the Ankle Lock. Aries rolls out as Angle’s head bounces off the second turnbuckle.

Aries rakes Angle’s eyes across the top rope. Missile dropkick lands for Aries. The challenger goes for a running dropkick, but Angle applies another Ankle Lock. This time Aries reaches the ropes. Aries’ spinning forearm is countered into an Angle Slam. Aries kicks out at two. Angle goes up the top turnbuckle and misses a moonsault. Aries capitalizes with Last Chancery. Angle reaches the bottom rope.

Aries goes up the top turnbuckle and Angle meets him there. They exchange punches and Aries rakes his eyes. Angle charges for a belly to belly, but is pushed back down. Aries hits the 450 splash and barely misses the three-count. In the center of the ring, they trade punches, forearms and chops. The Angle Slam is reversed into two forearms. Dropkick in the corner followed by the brainbuster connects for Aries. “Double A” goes for the pin, but Angle’s foot is on the bottom rope.

Aries locks in his own version of the Ankle Lock. Angle rolls out and sinks in a third Ankle Lock. Aries flips Angle off and out of the ring. Hobbling on one foot, Aries goes for a suicide dive, but Angle moves out of the way and Aries smacks into the guardrail. The Angle Slam is reversed into a sunset flip pin, but Angle counters into the fourth and final Ankle Lock. The champ retains as Aries taps.

Winner and still TNA world champion: Kurt Angle

After the match, EC3 attacks the champion. He picks up Angle’s championship and raises it up to close Destination X.
