Bantamweight Bout: Guido Cannetti (6-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) vs. Hugo Viana (8-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC)

Round 1: Viana caught him with a head kick within the first minute of the round. Cannetti threw a spinning back kick, but caught and was taken down by Viana. Viana went for a toe hold, but couldn’t get it secured. Viana let go and got the back of Cannetti. Viana with some hammer fists. Cannetti made his way to his feet and clinched with Viana on the fence. The fans boo so long that the referee finally separates them. Both guys being very cautious as far as their striking goes. Viana shot in, but stuffed and Cannetti tossed him down to the ground,

Round 2: Cannetti hurt Viana with a head kick right off the bat, he got the double under hooks and slammed Viana down to the ground. Cannetti gets into side control then transitioned into guard. Viana pushed him off and clinched with him along the fence halfway through the round. Viana with a single leg takedown, but Cannetti scrambled to his feet. They separate after a brief takedown by Cannetti. Viana with a huge leg kick that swept Cannetti off his feet. Viana clinches with Cannetti on the fence. Viana separated, landed a clear right hook and then got a double leg takedown into guard. Viana with some excellent ground and pound with hammer fists.

Round 3: Both guys were visibly tired and most of the round took place while is in the clinch. Not the most compelling round you’ll see in MMA. Cannetti got a double leg takedown with just forty-second remaining.

Result: Guido Cannetti def. Hugo Viana via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

Middleweight Bout: Clint Hester (11-4 MMA, 4-1 UFC) vs. Vitor Miranda (10-4 MMA, 1-1 UFC)

Round 1: Hester very aggressive early, he goes and gets a double leg takedown within the first twenty seconds. Miranda scrambled off his back and got on top of Hester. He started landing some huge strikes from the top that led to him doing a number on the face of Hester. Hester was bleeding at the end of the round.

Round 2: Hester with a left hook then a knee to the head of Miranda. Hester got a single leg takedown once again within twenty seconds of the round starting. Miranda scrambled to his feet quite quickly. Miranda starts kick the left leg of Hester. Hester looking for some big strikes. Hester went for a double leg takedown but stuffed. Hester works for it as they clinch on the fence. They separate moments later. Hester went for a double leg but ate a knee to the face. Miranda swarms him on the ground as Herb Dean watches on. Miranda with a gift wrap then strikes that finished off Hester.

Result: Vitor Miranda def. Clint Hester via TKO (strikes) – Round 2, 2:38

Bantamweight Bout: Iuri Alcantara (31-6 MMA, 6-3 UFC) vs. Leandro Issa (13-4 MMA, 2-1 UFC)

Round 1: Alcantara caught Issa with a left hook early in the fight, but really hurt him with a knee to the chest of Issa. Alcantara on top in half guard, Alcantara he went for an armbar, but let go and Issa gets on top of Alcantara following a scramble. Issa with some effective strikes to the face of Alcantara.

Round 2: Alcantara dropped Issa with a right hook, but didn’t pounce on him. Alcantara very patient. Alcantara is throwing more kicks as the fight goes on. Alcantara counter striking is very good. Anything he can counter he’s landing at will. Issa shot in on a single leg, but stuffed. They wrestle around until they clinch on the fence. Alcantara with a straight right hand then a head kick that dropped Issa. Alcantara with some elbows from the mount while this round ticks down. Issa scrambled to his feet and they trade to the bell.

Round 3: Issa went for a double leg takedown fifteen seconds into this round, but stuffed. Issa is really going for broke with takedowns, but can’t get it. Alcantara tossed Issa to the ground and went for a kimura, but couldn’t finish it. Alcantara landed some big hammer fists that busted Issa open by his nose. Alcantara let him up within 1:20. Alcantara blasted Issa with strikes and even a flying knee to close the round.

Result: Iuri Alcantara def. Leandro Issa via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-27)

Welterweight Bout: Warlley Alves (8-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) vs. Nordine Taleb (11-2 MMA, 3-0 UFC)

Round 1: Taleb threw a kick, but it was caught and Alves tossed him to the ground. Alves on top in half guard worked him over with elbows. Taleb scrambled his back to his feet. Alves dropped him with a right hook. Taleb got back to his feet but was hurt. Alves stayed on him, but Taleb took him down with a single leg. Alves right back to his feet. Taleb with a knee to the body of Alves to close the round.

Round 2: Taleb clinches with Alves right away and tried to get a double under hook takedown, but ate a knee for his troubles. Avles caught a kick and took Taleb down. Alves in half guard as he works over Taleb. This leads to Taleb scrambling to his feet while Alves clinches with him. Alves locked in a guillotine choke and got the win.

Result: Warlley Alves def. Nordine Taleb via submission (guillotine choke) – Round 2, 4:11

Light Heavyweight Bout: Rafael Cavalcante (12-5 MMA, 1-2 UFC) vs. Patrick Cummins (7-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC)

Round 1: Cummins caught a kick of Cavalcante and took him down. Cavalcante went for an armbar, but Cummins slammed him down to the ground. Cavalcante made it to his feet, but Cummins dragged him down on the ground and got the back of Cavalcante. Cavalcante made his way back to his feet and landed a left hook that has cut opened up Cummins. Cavalcante is just swinging for the fences and is landing.

Round 2: Cavalcante picks Cummins apart with some jabs that results in Cummins bleeding even more from his nose. Cummins with a huge double-leg takedown halfway through the round and lets the hammer fall on the face of Cavalcante. Cavalcante catches him with an up kick that rocked Cummins. Cavalcante rolled to his feet after landing some up kicks. Cummins clinched, but ate a knee to the gut. Cavalcante separated as he is very tired. Cummins with a big toss that sent Cavalcante to the ground.

Round 3: Cummins with a double leg takedown right away then landed some big elbows to stop the fight.

Result: Patrick Cummins def. Rafael Cavalcante via TKO (elbows) – Round 3, 0:45

Welterweight Bout: Neil Magny (15-3 MMA, 8-2 UFC) vs. Demian Maia (20-6 MMA, 14-6 UFC)

Round 1: Maia went in and got a single leg takedown within thirteen seconds of the fight. Maia in mount, but Magny rolled out. Maia still on top of him, he transitions to any position he pleases. Maia gets into mount and just lits up Magny. Maia ends the round for going for an ambar.

Round 2: Maia took over where he ended in round one. Maia gets right to mount within the first round. Maia then transitions to the back mount of Magny and locked in the rear-naked choke for the win.

Result: Demian Maia def. Neil Magny via submission (rear-naked choke) – Round 2, 2:52

Strawweight Bout: Jessica Aguilar (19-4 MMA, 0-0 UFC) vs. Claudia Gadelha (12-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC)

Round 1: Aguilar very fired up to begin this round. Gadelha with a blitz of strikes every time they get close. Gadelha with a good left, right hook combo. Gadelha is countering anything that Aguilar throws and is just so much faster than Aguilar. Gadelha with a double leg takedown late in the round. Gadelha gets the back of Aguilar as she works her over with strikes.

Round 2: Gadelha is starting to land some great counter strikes as the fans are fully behind her for doing so. Aguilar is bleeding heavily from her nose. The commentators talk about how she needs to do something different as she is losing this round. The fight stayed on the feet until Gadelha got a double leg takedown with the last ten seconds remaining.

Round 3: Gadelha was working on the left leg of Aguilar with kicks and it’s starting to soften. Aguilar clinched with Gadelha along the fence halfway through the round. Aguilar separated with a right hook, but Gadelha answered right away. They two turned the fight into a rock em sock em robot fight within the last minute of the right. With thirty-five seconds remaining, Gadelha landed a double leg takedown into half guard and that’s how the fight ended.

Result: Claudia Gadelha def. Jessica Aguilar via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Heavyweight Bout: Antonio Silva (18-7 MMA, 2-4 UFC) vs. Soa Palelei (22-4 MMA, 4-2 UFC)

Round 1: Silva landed a big knee to the jaw of Palelei, but Palelei followed up and clinched with Silva on the fence. They separate moments later. Silva landed a stiff uppercut to the jaw of Palelei. Silva clinches with him once more. Silva went for a takedown, but Palelei reversed while going down and got on top of Silva. Palelei with some hammer fists from the top by Palelei. Palelei hurt Silva with some elbows at the very end of the round and was saved by the bell.

Round 2: Silva with a big uppercut that hurt Palelei, he followed it up with some knees and then laid on some big strikes. Silva dropped him then finished him with strikes on the ground.

Result: Antonio Silva def. Soa Palelei via TKO (punches) – Round 2, 0:41

Heavyweight Bout: Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (34-9-1 MMA, 5-5 UFC) vs. Stefan Struve (25-7 MMA, 9-4 UFC)

Round 1: Nogueira with a left hook then clinches with Struve to begin the round. Nogueira works for a takedown while clinching with Struve. Struve separated and landed a straight right hand that hurt Big Nog. Nogueira clinched with Struve, but ate two-back-to-back strikes. Struve tossed Nogueira to the ground, but didn’t go after Nogueira and let him stand up. Nogueira with a combo of his own. Nogueira with throw some strikes then clinches with Struve. That’s his gameplan so far. They trade in the pocket with Struve ending with a knee to the gut of Nogueira.

Round 2: Nogueira landed an overhand right to set up the clinch with Struve following the start of the round. The fans started booing from this point forward every time they clinched. Nogueira dragged Struve down to the ground and got the back then into mount. Struve shook him off and got back to his feet. Struve landed a straight right then a head kick that hurt Nogueira.

Round 3: Nogueira landed a straight right that hurt Struve then got a double leg takedown all in the first thirty seconds of this fight. Struve scrambled out and to his feet. Struve is starting to throw leg kicks on Nogueira’s left leg. This made Nogueira clinch with Struve on the fence. This was Struve’s best round by far as Nogueira started to slow down and he picked apart Nogueira.

Result: Stefan Struve def. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Bantamweight Bout: Dileno Lopes (18-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) vs. Reginaldo Vieira (12-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC)

Round 1: Lopes is throwing for the fences, Vieira steps in, but right into a guillotine choke by Lopes. Vieira gets out and locks in his own guillotine choke. Lopes slides out of that. They swing for the fences, Vieira dropped Lopes with a right hook then locked in a guillotine choke. Lopes got out of that one. These two are fighting for their lives. Vieira back to his feet and clinches with Lopes on the fence. Lopes with a huge straight left hand. They trade to finish the round.

Round 2: These two have slowed down quite a bit since the previous round, which has made the crowd a bit restless. They kept it standing and seemed to be trying to find the correct range. Vieira with a series of body kicks that ended with him landing a right hook.

Round 3: Vieira’s of leg kicks has done him right as Lopes is limping as he walks and more around. Lopes locked in a jumping guillotine choke halfway through the round, but Verira got out. Vieira is bleeding heavily. They trade hammer fists while on the ground.

Result: Reginaldo Vieira def. Dileno Lopes via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27)

Lightweight Bout: Fernando Bruno (15-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) vs. Glaico Franca (12-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC)

Round 1: Bruno went in for a takedown, but side-stepped and ate the fence. Franca clinched with Bruno, Franca with a single leg takedown that led to him getting half guard. Brune scrambled to his feet with 1:05 remaining. Franca got the back of Bruno with just second remaining in the round, but couldn’t do anything damaging.

Round 2: To sum up this round, it was very easy. Franca got the back of Bruno early on and controlled the round from there. Franca worked him over with strikes from back mount to close the round.

Round 3: Bruno comes right at Franca to begin the round. Bruno let it all hang out as he is desperate to get something done. Bruno with a hip toss takedown and got the back of Franca. Bruno locked in a rear-naked choke, but Franca got out. Franca to his feet, Bruno went to take Franca back down, but Franca stood tall by using the fence. Franca got his own double leg takedown that put Bruno on his back. Franca transitioned to the back of Bruno and got the rear-naked choke for the win.

Result: Glaico Franca def. Fernando Bruno via submission (rear-naked choke) – Round 3, 4:46

Light Heavyweight Bout: Mauricio Rua (22-10 MMA, 6-8 UFC) vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (21-6 MMA, 4-3 UFC)

Round 1: A feeling out process early by both fighters. Rua opened up with a good 1-2 punch. Rua missed an overhand right and Nogueira clinched with him. Nogueira missed a wild overhand left that saw Rua separate. Nogueira tagged Rua, he blitzed Rua on the fence and tried to finish the fight. Rua covers up, Nogueira blasted him. Nogueira with a huge knee to the face of Rua. Rua answered with a right hook that stunned Nogueira. Nogueira with some big strikes to the wounded Rua. They swing for the fences.

Round 2: Rusa got a single leg takedown on Nogueira to begin the round. He worked over little Nog with strikes from half guard. Nogueira rolled off his back and to his feet halfway through the round. Rua clinched with Nogueira on the fence. Moments later, they were separated. They traded to the bell.

Round 3: Nogueira continues to throw some big body kicks to Rua, who wants nothing to do with them and clinches with him on the fence. They separate and start throwing bombs in the middle of the Octagon. Rua clinched with Nogueira again and the fans once again booed. Rua shot in on a single-leg with one minute remaining but stuffed and Nogueira locked in a guillotine choke. Rua got out with just seconds remaining in the round.

Result: Mauricio Rua def. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

Women’s Bantamweight Championship Bout: Champ Ronda Rousey (11-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC) vs. Bethe Correia (9-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC)

Round 1: Both girls come out swinging for the fences. Rousey clinches and starts landing some uppercuts. Rousey rocked Correia with strikes then dropped her with a straight right that put Correia out cold.

Result: Ronda Rousey def. Bethe Correia via knockout (punches) – Round 1, 0:34
