WWE Night of Champions Opener:
The show opens with a video package highlighting the championship theme of the evening, and the fact that every title will be on the line tonight, as well as the main feuds heading into tonight’s show.
The pyro hits and that horrible Kevin Rudolph song plays again as Michael Cole welcomes us to the show. Cole begins the PPV with an update on Jerry Lawler. He talks about Lawler’s heart attack on Monday and the events that immediately followed, including 15 minutes of CPR being performed on Lawler, which ultimately saved his life. Lawler is recovering, cracking jokes, and thanks the fans. And Jerry Lawler will be going home to Memphis this week. Cole gets ready to introduce Lawler’s replacement for the evening, but Justin Roberts interrupts him, bringing out JBL.
JBL says this is a hard situation, and he’s keeping Jerry’s seat warm, but by the time he comes back, it might be on fire.
Fatal 4-Way Match
The Miz (c) vs. Sin Cara, Rey Mysterio & Cody Rhodes
They’re interrupted by Lillian Garcia who brings out the Miz for the first match. Miz has a mic in hand and criticizes Booker T’s brilliant idea. Tonight is supposed to be all about Miz, a champion, and he’s the only champion who has to defend his belt against three different challengers, and Miz is filing an official complaint. He won’t stop until his voice is head, because he’s the Miz, and he’s interrupted by Rey Mysterio, who comes out to a big pop.
Cody Rhodes is the third competitor to make his way out into the arena. Rhodes gets a mostly negative reaction, but he’s got a couple of fans in the crowd.
Finally, Sin Cara makes his way out to the ring last, and he gets a pretty indifferent reaction from the crowd, especially compared to someone like Mysterio.
Everyone will be in the ring for this one. The bell rings and Cody and Cara go at it, with Cody tossing Cara to the floor. Rhodes and Miz try to take out Mysterio, but they’re taken out with a double cross body by Cara. Cara and Mysterio clear the ring and stare each other down, but Miz pulls Mysterio from the ring. Cody and Miz double team Cara, stomping away at him. Miz holds Cara so Cody can get a shot, but when Cody tries to reciprocate, Cara is able to reverse things with a headscissors. Cara sends Cody from the ring before taking Miz out as well with a nice arm drag.
Cody charges at Mysterio but ends up thrown out of the ring. Cara and Mysterio match up, trading kicks before Cara hits a hurricanrana. Rey goes for one of his own and Cara shoulders him, but Rey is able to connect anyway. Rey goes for the pin but it’s broken up. Miz stomps away at Rey while Cody focuses on Cara. Cody hits a front suplex on Cara and Miz blasts Rey with a running knee. Cody hits Cara with a punch and teases a pin, Miz goes to break it up. Miz and Cody square off, trading quick blows. Cody tries for the disaster kick but misses. Miz hits a neckbreaker before back dropping Cody to the outside. Mysterio rolls up Miz, but ends up being rolled up by Cara.
Cara and Mysterio hit Miz with stereo kicks before turning to each other with nasty kicks to the thigh. Cara sends Mysterio into the ring, but runs into a drop toe hold into the middle turnbuckle. Mysterio begins heading to the top, but he’s stopped by a kick to the top of the head from Cara. Cara heads up after Mysterio, but he’s pulled away by Rhodes who hits him with the disaster kick, but Cara kicks out at two. Cody heads up after Rey, trying for a superplex, but it’s broken up by Miz, who powerbombs Rhodes while he superplexes Rey. Rey tries to pin both men unsuccessfully. Miz sends Rhodes and Cara crashing out to the floor before choking Mysterio in the ropes.
Miz kicks at Mysterio’s legs and hits the low DDT which is good for another two count. Miz picks up Mysterio, but eats a kick to the chest. Mysterio slides to the outside and Miz ends up eating a springboard missile dropkick that sends him to the outside. Cara hits a suicide dive to take out Miz while Mysterio hits a hurricanrana to send Rhodes into the barricade before hitting a flying seated senton from the apron. Cara sends Miz back into the ring and hits a slingshot body press, but it’s not enough to keep Miz down for two. Miz takes Cara out, but he’s taken out by Mysterio who hits a springboard moonsault, but the pin is broken up by Rhodes.
Cody drives Rey’s face into the canvas hard for a two count. He goes for Cara, but ends up in the ropes. Miz sends Cara shoulder first into the ring post, but Mysterio sends him into the ropes. Cody avoids the 619, but Miz doesn’t. Miz drops the dime, but Rhodes pulls Mysterio from the ring. Rhodes goes for the pin, but Cara breaks it up. Rhodes stomps away at Cara before bringing him up to his feet and hitting a snap mare. Rhodes rips at Cara’s mask, but Mysterio breaks it up with a seated senton. Rhodes comes right back, sending Mysterio flying from the ring. Cara hits Rhodes with an enzugiri. He pulls out one of his masks and goes to put it on Rhodes, but he ends up being caught with a neckbreaker from Miz for another two count.
Miz goes for a powerbomb on Cara, but Cara slips the mask on Miz. Rhodes tries for cross Rhodes on Cara, but Miz, who can’t see, hits the SCF on Rhodes. He pins Cody for the three count.
Winner and STILL WWE Intercontinental Champion: The Miz
Prime Time Players were shown complaining to Eve about losing their #1 contender spot to the Tag Titles. Suddenly, there was a commotion off-camera. Eve ran down the hallway and the camera captured Kaitlyn on the floor selling an ankle injury and being tended to by the trainer. Kaitlyn said she was warming up when a masked individual struck her from behind. It looks like a Tonya Harding situation here. Eve jumped to a conclusion that Kaitlyn should not wrestle tonight and they’ll figure out what to do about the Divas Title match.
– We get a video package about Daniel Bryan and Kane, and what led to them getting a title shot tonight.
WWE Tag Team Championship Match
Kofi Kingston & R-Truth (c) vs. Daniel Bryan & Kane
Bryan and Kane argue about who will start the match. Kane wins and begins with Kofi. Kofi kicks away at Kane’s leg, and Kane sends Kofi over the top rope. Kofi skins the cat and hits Kane with a big dropkick. He tags in Truth who goes for a cross body but it caught by Kane. Kofi hits a dropkick to Truth’s back to take down Kane. Kane is able to fight back, bringing things over to make the tag to Bryan. Bryan kicks at Truth, screaming no the whole time. Bryan sends Truth across the ring, but runs into an arm drag. Truth is able to make the tag, and Kofi comes in with a big cross body for a two count.
Quick tags as Truth comes back in and hits a dancing leg drop for another two count. Truth blasts Bryan with a big right hand. Kane makes the blind tag and comes in with a big clothesline to take out Truth. Bryan likes what he sees. Kane beats on Truth in the corner, burying rights and legs in his gut before kicking away at him. Kane makes the tag and the two work as a team for the first time in the match. Bryan kicks away at Truth’s chest repeatedly before hitting a running low dropkick. Bryan goes for the pin but only gets two.
Kane makes the tag and Bryan sets up Truth for a low dropkick from the big man. Truth tries to fight back, but Kane sends him into the corner and hits a big clothesline. Bryan tags in and Kane tries to send Bryan into the corner for a dropkick to Truth. Bryan misses and Truth falls from the ring. Kane helps Bryan up, but Bryan shoves him, mad at the error. Shoving from both men ensues, and Bryan pushes Kane’s face. Bryan tells Kane to wait, and says they have to wait, saying they need to hug it out. Bryan implores Kane to hug, and the two men embrace, to a huge pop.
Truth is able to sneak over for a tag and Kingston comes in with a series of kicks and strikes to take out Bryan. Kofi connects with the boom drop, but Kane pulls Bryan from the ring. Kingston takes out Kane with a baseball slide, then takes out Bryan with a front flip over the top rope to the floor. Kofi sends Bryan into the ring, and follows with a springboard, but Bryan catches him with the No lock. Truth breaks it up, but Kane pulls Truth out to the floor. Bryan hits Kofi with a corner dropkick, and Kane tags himself in. Kane heads to the top and Bryan argues with him. Kofi tries for a top rope hurricanrana, but Bryan hangs on to Kane to stop him from falling. Kane hits Bryan, so Bryan runs into Kane with a big forearm and pushes him from the top, onto Kofi. Kane gets the pin, and the three.
Winners and NEW WWE Tag Team Champions: Daniel Bryan and Kane
Bryan and Kane celebrated individually before yelling in each other’s face, “I am the tag team champions!” This continued for a while before the two men huffed and puffed in each other’s faces. Kane then lifted his arms in the air for his big pyro explosion, but there was no pyro. Suddenly, there was a story of Kane losing his pyro power, but the pyro was just mis-timed, as it set off late. Kane then bailed from the ring, leaving Bryan to celebrate alone.
Booker T and Teddy Long commented on Bryan and Kane winning the Tag Titles. Eve then barged in and claimed Kaitlyn has no chance of competing against Layla tonight. Booker blew things off, but Long said every title must be defended tonight. Eve said there are no other Divas on the roster who have earned a title shot. Booker thought things over, then said Eve did when she beat Kaitlyn two weeks ago. Booker gave Eve the title shot…if she’s ready. Eve disingenuously said she could muster enough courage to compete for the good of the company. Eve walked off. Long was very skeptical about Eve, but Booker remained oblivious to Eve’s actions.
WWE U.S. Championship Match
Antonio Cesaro (c) vs. Zack Ryder
Antonio Cesaro makes his way out to the ring first, with Aksana in tow. Cesaro doesn’t look too happy as he makes his way into the ring. Aksana grabs the mic and has Antonio say the word unfair in English, Italian, German, Swiss, and French. Antonio says he considers this match unfair. He continues to complain, but is interrupted by Zack Ryder’s music.
The bell rings and we get a lock up with Cesaro takes Ryder down to the mat right away. Antonio locks in a front face lock, but Ryder escapes and hits an arm drag. Cesaro comes back with a side headlock, before hitting a big shoulderblock. Antonio runs into a big flapjack from Ryder which is good enough for a two count. Cesaro comes back with snake eyes. Cesaro stomps away at Ryder before locking in a rear chin lock. Ryder is able to fight out of the hold, but he falls victim to a giant clothesline and another two count.
Cesaro deadlifts Ryder before tossing him across the ring and smothering him in the ropes. Cesaro stomps down on Ryder’s misection, getting another two count. Cesaro hits a suplex, but still can’t keep Ryder down. Cesaro locks in a cravat, but Ryder breaker it and the two trade right hands. Cesaro hits the pop up European uppercut, and it’s amazing, but it only keeps Ryder down for two, Cesaro stomps away at Ryder in the corner. Cesaro looks like he’s going for a neckbreaker, but just holds Ryder on his back. Ryder fights out and slams Cesaro face first into the canvas. Ryder is able to come up with a clothesline and a roll up for two. He hits Cesaro with knees to the face and a dropkick from the middle rope for another two count.
Ryder counters a suplex into a neckbreaker for another two count. Cesaro rolls out to the apron and slams Ryder’s head into the turnbuckle. He heads to the top, but he’s stopped by Ryder. Ryder heads up after him and hits a top rope hurricanrana. Ryder goes for the broski boot, but Aksana pulls Cesaro from the ring. Cesaro heads back in, hits a European uppercut, and the neutralizer to put Ryder down for a three count.
Winner and STILL WWE US Champion: Antonio Cesaro
Alberto Del Rio was shown warming up for his World Title match. David Otunga, in a neckbrace, walked into the room to discuss matters with Del Rio. Ricardo Rodriguez then walked into the locker room, but he was not wearing his neckbrace. Otunga and Del Rio reprimanded Ricardo for not wearing his brace (since they’re trying to fake injuries, which exposed their plot in front of millions of people). Del Rio called Ricardo stupid in Spanish, then Ricardo reluctantly put his neckbrace back on after they walked away.
Dolph Ziggler vs. Randy Orton
The bell rings and Ziggler and Orton lock up. Ziggler backs Orton into the corner, but they both push each other around the ring. Ziggler is able to take Orton down to the mat, and avoid something, so he immediately gloats. Another lock up and Orton clamps on a side headlock. Ziggler pushes him off, but eats a shoulder block. Ziggler gets up, only to catch a big clothesline. Orton stomps away at Dolph before hitting him with a big uppercut.
Ziggler hits a beautiful dropkick for two, then chokes Randy in the corner with his boot. Ziggler catches Orton with a kick to the chest, and takes him down to the mat for a two count. Ziggler punches away at Orton’s neck before hitting him with a big elbow to the back of the head. Orton is able to hit a big rope assisted suplex, putting Ziggler down for a two count of his own.
Orton hits his signature backbreaker before putting Ziggler down with a couple of clotheslines, and a quick powerslam. Ziggler rolls out to the apron. Orton tries for the suspension DDT, but Ziggler fights out and rolls him up for two. Ziggler tries for the rocker dropper, but Orton counters with a powerbomb. Orton pins Ziggler for two. Orton drags Ziggler into the corner and seats him on the top rope before hitting him with a couple of big rights. Orton tries for a superplex, but Ziggler is able to fight him off. Ziggler stands on the middle rope and hits a big missile dropkick that’s good for another two count.
Orton and Ziggler trade right hands, getting up to their feet. Orton is able to grab Orton’s head and snap his throat across the top rope for yet another two count. Ziggler stomps away at Orton’s chest before hitting him with a series of elbow drops that puts Orton down for two. Ziggler locks in a rear chin lock, and Orton looks to be fading.
Orton is able to fight up to his feet, hitting a belly to back suplex to break the hold. Orton runs into a back elbow, then a big clothesline that gives him another two count. Ziggler locks in another rear chin lock. Orton fights out of the hold again with a head butt. Orton and Ziggler trade rights, but Orton hits a big dropkick to put Dolph down.
Ziggler is able to hit a DDT out of nowhere which is good for another two count. Ziggler climbs up to the top rope and waits for Orton to stand. Orton is able to crotch Ziggler, and he hits him with a couple of rights before heading up after him. Orton hits a top rope superplex, but it’s not enough for a three count.
Orton and Ziggler trade strikes in the middle of the ring. Neither man seems willing to give ground, but Orton is able to come up with a back elbow, and clothesline, only to eat a rocker dropper for another near fall. Ziggler tries for a sleeper, but he ends up on the ring apron. Ziggler drops to the floor and he and Orton fight on the outside where Orton tosses him into the barricade.
Orton tosses Ziggler over the barricade and uses the guard rail for the suspension DDT, usually performed with the middle rope. Orton drags Ziggler back into the ring, and he goes for the pin, but Ziggler puts his foot on the rope. Orton tries for the RKO, but Ziggler counters with a roll up. Ziggler is able to lock on the sleeper hold, but Orton throws him off. Orton pops Ziggler up into an RKO, and gets the three count.
Winner: Randy Orton
WWE Divas Championship Match
Layla (c) vs. Eve Torres
The bell rings and both women lock up. Layla rolls up Eve for a quick two count. Another lock up and Eve locks in a head lock, taking Layla down to the mat. Layla counters into a head scissors, and takes Eve down with an arm drag. Another lock up and Eve works over Layla’s arm, but Layla is able to clamp on a head lock and hit a big shoulder block. Layla and Eve trade roll ups before Layla puts on another head lock before hitting a low dropkick to Eve’s head.
Eve catches Layla with a cheap shot before sending her crashing to the outside. Eve follows and slams Layla down into the floor before sending her crashing into the ring apron. Eve sends things back into the ring and kicks at Layla’s stomach. Eve sends Layla into the corner hard before choking her against the middle rope. Eve sits on the top and clamps on another rear chin lock. She kicks Layla down to the mat before going for the pin, getting another two count.
Eve locks on a body scissors, transitioning into a head scissors to wear down Layla. She goes into the ropes for more leverage and is forced to break. Layla comes back with a big DDT, and a dropkick to the side of the face. Layla takes Eve down to the mat, but misses her corner splash. Eve hits a neckrbeaker, and pins Layla, getting the three count.
Winner and NEW WWE Divas Champion: Eve
– Lilian Garcia formally announced WWE’s partnership with the Susan G. Komen organization to the live crowd. Lilian then introduced breast cancer survivors in the crowd wearing John Cena’s new pink and black ring gear. This led to a video promoting the organization.
Daniel Bryan is shown backstage, still celebrating his win and saying that he’s the Tag Team Champions. He runs into his therapist, and Kane comes along doing the same thing. Both men argue about who is the Tag Team Champions. AJ comes in and screams that this is enough. She says she got their doctor to come here, and they won the titles, and they’re still mad at each other. She asks what’s wrong with them. Dr. Shelby asks is Daniel wants to say anything to Kane. Daniel says congratulations. Kane refuses to do anything, so Bryan asks where he’s going. Bryan says that’s why he’s the tag team champions. Kane comes in and dumps Gatorade all over everyone and says he’s going to Disneyland, and he’s the Tag Team Champions.
– We get a video package highlighting the events leading up to our next match, and the banning of the Sheamus’ Brogue kick.
Sheamus (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio
We get formal ring introductions from Ricardo Rodriguez and Lillian Garcia, and we’re ready to begin the match, but first…
Booker T’s music hits, and the Smackdown GM makes his way out to the entrance ramp with a mic in hand. Booker says he’s concluded his investigation. Last week he went over all the evidence, going through countless hours of video footage. The Brogue kick is a dangerous move, but when you sign up to be a WWE superstar, there are risks involved. Booker says at this time he declares the Brogue kick be reinstated.
Otunga is up on the apron to confer with Del Rio, and he’s blasted with a Brogue kick. Del Rio hits Sheamus with a shoulder block, and then he bails to the outside. Del Rio confers with Ricardo before heading back into the ring. Sheamus fights Del Rio in the corner before being thrown across the ring. Sheamus comes back with a neckbreaker for two. Del Rio head butts Sheamus before kicking him in the ribs hard. Del Rio misses a kick to Sheamus on the apron, and he falls to the floor. Sheamus leaps on the apron with a giant shoulder block.
Sheamus brings things back into the ring, but Del Rio fights him off in the corner, and sends him down to the floor before sending him crashing into the Spanish announce table. Del Rio brings things back into the ring and goes for the pin but he’s only able to get a two count. Del Rio clamps on a front face lock, but Sheamus is able to fight out of it. Sheamus runs into a kick to the gut, and eats a boot to the back of the head, but it’s not enough to keep him down. Del Rio launches Sheamus into the ring post shoulder first before yanking at Sheamus’ arm, then kicking at it. Del Rio heads to the top and leaps off with a flying strike that puts Sheamus down for a two count.
Del Rio locks on an arm submission, but Sheamus is able to fight out of it. Del Rio locks in another submission while ties up in the ropes for more leverage. He heads up to the top, but jumps right into a big double axe handle from Sheamus. Sheamus hits another double axe, and another before burying his shoulder in Del Rio’s midsection. Sheamus hits a high knee and puts Del Rio on the mat with a big slam.
Sheamus back drops Del Rio to the apron. Del Rio tries to send Sheamus head first into the turnbuckle, but Sheamus reverses it. He pulls Del Rio back against the ropes and lays in with huge clubbing blows to the chest. Sheamus tries for white noise, but Del Rio drops down and hits a backstabber for two. Del Rio stomps at Sheamus, but when he picks him up, Sheamus hits white noise. Sheamus heads to the corner and psyches himself up. He tries for the Brogue kick, but misses and Del Rio hits an enzugiri that’s good for two.
Del Rio talks trash to Sheamus, so Sheamus tries to fight back. Del Rio attacks the shoulder, and kicks him in the gut. Del Tio tries for the arm breaker, but Sheamus counters and tries for the cloverleaf. Del Rio is able to fight out of it. Sheamus charges Del Rio, but ends up tied up in the ropes. Del Rio kicks at Sheamus’ bad arm. Sheamus heads back into the ring. Sheamus shoulders Del Rio, but Del Rio hits double knees to Sheamus’ arm. Del Rio locks on the cross arm breaker.
Sheamus breaks the hold by picking Del Rio up and slamming him back down to the mat. Sheamus tries for the Brogue kick, but Del Rio is able to counter into the cross arm breaker. Sheamus struggles for the ropes, and he’s able to make it to break the hold. Del Rio misses the flying kick in the corner, and he walks right into the Brogue kick, which puts him down for a three count.

WWE Championship Match
CM Punk (c) vs. John Cena
Paul Heyman is in the ring with a mic. He says although he’s from New York, he’s just like every single person in Boston, Mass. He’s here to witness history as your reigning, defending champion, CM Punk, in his 302nd consecutive day as the WWE Champion. He’s here to pay respect to the title and champion. To a man of such extraordinary character that he calls himself a Paul Heyman guy. Punk’s music hits, and the champion gets a pretty mixed reaction on his way out to the ring.
John Cena is out next, and he too gets a pretty mixed reaction, but there are a whole bunch of cheers in there. Cena is, of course, sporting his new pink gear, and he races down to the ring for the main event of the evening.
After formal ring introductions, we’re ready to begin the match.
Punk holds his title over his head for a long time before giving it up to the referee. He smiles and laughs as he kills a bit of time before the match.
Punk finally gives up the belt and the bell rings. Punk and Cena lock up and the two fight into the corner. Punk and Cena fight around the ring and down to the mat, but neither man gains an advantage. There’s a stalemate as they soak in the cheers for both men. Punk locks on a headlock. Cena pushes him off, but Punk catches himself in the ropes.
Cena is able to take Punk over with a quick suplex and he clamps on a bear hug. Punk fights out of it and hits Cena with an uppercut, a low knee, and a snap mare. Punk holds on with another head lock. Cena is able to fight up to his feet and he back drops Cena to the mat. Cena misses a splash in the corner though, and he crashes to the mat. Punk kicks Cena in the face for a two count.
Punk hits a couple of elbows to the back of Cena’s head before sending him into the corner hard. Punk heads up on the corner but Cena catches him on his shoulders. Punk is able to put Cena down with a DDT for two. Punk hits Cena with elbows to the heart, and he pins the challenger for another two count.
Cena hits a shoulder block, but Punk comes back with a drop toe hold, bridging over into a submission and crimping back Cena’s neck. Cena is able to break the hold, and he rolls away to the outside. Punk waits for Cena to stand, and when he does he sends himself through the ropes, wiping out Cena. Punk sends Cena back into the ring after staring down Cena’s father in the crowd. Punk plays to the crowd, and Cena hits a baseball slide before sending Punk out into the crowd. Cena brings Punk back into the ringside area with a fisherman suplex.
In the ring, Cena tries for an AA, but Punk fights out and kicks Cena in the head. Punk locks in a camel clutch, and Cena struggles to his feet, with Punk on his back. Punk fights back with elbows to Cena’s neck, that takes him to the mat. Punk hits Cena with a big elbow and a series of right hands that’s good for another two count.
Punk comes off the top rope to wipe out Cena. He picks Cena up and tries for the G2S, but Cena fights out and hits a shoulder block, then a second. Cena tries for a belly to back suplex. but Punk counters, then hits two clotheslines. Cena comes back with a clothesline of his own that’s good for a two count. Cena calls for the five knuckle shuffle, but Punk puts his boot up to block Cena. Punk kicks Cena in the gut before hitting a neckbreaker for a two count.
Punk heads out to the apron and springboards from the top rope, but Cena catches him and rolls through, standing up and shouldering Punk. Punk hangs on to the ropes, so Cena drops him out to the floor. Cena dives through the ropes to the outside to take out Punk. Cena brings things back into the ring where he hits the belly to back suplex. Cena calls for the five knuckle shuffle, but again Punk counters, this time locking in the anaconda vice.
Cena makes it out of the hold, and he’s able to put on the STF, but Punk refuses to quit. Punk fights out of the hold and he puts on a crossface. Cena is able to stand up with Punk and drop him down to the mat.
Punk and Cena trade rights and kicks in the middle of the ring. Punk gets the upper hand with a back kick. He hits the running knee in the corner and follows it up with a bulldog. Punk heads straight to the top and hits the top rope elbow drop, pinning Cena for a two count. Punk calls for the G2S, letting Cena get up and shouldering him. Cena counters into the STF and Punk screams in pain.
Punk makes it to the ropes to force Cena to break the hold. Punk shoulders Cena out of nowhere and connects with the G2S, but Cena is able to kick out at two.
Punk kicks at Cena’s head, before bringing him to his feet for a shoulder block that’s good for another two count. Punk pulls Cena up to his feet and slaps his in the face. Punk shoulders Cena, Cena reverses and shoulders Punk. Punk fights out but is put down to the mat. Cena hits the five knuckle shuffle and follows up with the AA, but Punk won’t stay down for three.
Punk rolls out to the floor. Cena follows to the outside, bringing Punk back into the ring. Cena heads up to the top rope and tries for the leg drop, but Punk avoids it. Punk kicks Cena in the side of the head, but Cena still will not stay down. Punk slaps Cena across the face repeatedly before kneeing Cena in the side of the head.
Punk heads up to the top and he tries for a moonsault, but Cena moves (although it looks like he moves into the path of the moonsault). Both men are down. Cena shoulders Punk. Punk shoulders Cena and hits the G2S again, but Cena kicks out again.
Punk looks frustrated, and he calls Cena to get up to his feet. He hits Cena with the Rock Bottom, but it’s still not enough for three. Punk looks completely distraught. Punk turns around into the AA, but he’s able to kick out at two!
Cena lifts Punk up on to the top turnbuckle and he follows up after him. Punk fights Cena off, sending him crashing to the mat, but Cena comes up quick with a big German suplex from the top, holding on to the pin for the three count.
Winner and NEW WWE Champion: John Cena
Cena grabs the belt, and celebrates, but the referee takes it away. Justin Roberts gets on the mic and says that both competitors shoulders were on the mat, therefore, this match is a draw.
Draw, meaning CM Punk is STILL WWE Champion
Punk cradles his title, and Cena pleads with the ref. Cena turns around just in time to be blasted with the WWE Title belt. Punk holds the belt high and stands over Cena.
The show ends with Punk making his way to the back, accompanied by Paul Heyman, who is talking the champ up the entire way to the back while Cena is checked on by trainers in the ring.
