WWE NXT Results For September 2nd, 2015: Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament Begins!

Welcome to NXT, we kick things off with some tag team action..

Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament match: Baron Corbin and Rhyno vs. The Ascension.

Viktor and Rhyno started things off. They lock up, then exchange right hands. Viktor with a rolling shoulder block. Konnor and Corbin tagged in. Konnor with a series of right hands, then backed Corbin into his corner. He tagged in Viktor, who put the boots to him and the fans are way into The Ascension. Corbin fought back and sent Viktor into the ring post. Rhyno got the hot tag and cleared house on Konnor. Viktor tagged in, but ran into a powerslam by Corbin. Corbin missed a clothesline and Viktor hit one of his own. Tags are made, Rhyno and Konnor are now leg. Konnor with a series of rights to Rhyno. Corbin ran into the ring, but but ate a clothesline. Konnor hit a double splash, then a Samoan splash to Rhyno. Konnor Corbin distracted Konnor and Rhyno hit him with a splash for the win.

Winners: Rhyno and Corbin.

Neville with Solomon Crowe cuts a promo backstage about the impact of Dusty Rhodes had on his life and career. Crowe said that it’s a great opportunity to tag with the greatest NXT Champion ever. Crowe said that he’s calling it now, “we’re winning this thing.”

Singles match: Alexa Bliss vs. Blue Pants.

Bliss went right after Pants. She landed a series of right hands to the face of Pants. Bliss with an arm hold, which the fans got behind Blue Pants and she fought out of it. Pants with a series of right jabs. She landed a series of kicks then hit a suplex for 2. Pants missed a splash and Blis hit a double knee drops to the ribs of Pants. She then hit the Sparkle Splash for the win.

Winner: Bliss.

Tyler Breeze is shown talking to William Regal in the back about finding him a partner for the Dusty Rhodes Classic tournament. Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Chiapa is also in Regal’s office. He booked the two stars against Breeze and Bull Dempsey next week.

Singles match: Apollo Crews vs. Martin Stone

Apollo Crews begin the match with a series of clotheslines then an amazing drop kick. Stone with a mean clothesline, then mocked Crews. Stone with a headlock, Crews fought out with a big boot. He kipped up, then hit his finisher, which is a gorilla press then followed by a standing moonsault.

Winner: Crews

Finn Balor cuts a backstage promo in the back about his upcoming title defenses in Texas. Samoa Joe walks up to Balor and said that the NXT Championship is important, but the Dusty Rhodes Classic is also important. Joe asked if he was ready, Balor said yes and they shook hands.

Singles match: Eva Marie vs. Billie Kay.

They lock up, Kay with a big boot for a near all right out of the gate. Marie backed her up in the corner, then hit a series of shoulder blocks. Marie ran at Kay and hit a splash in the corner. Marie with a forearm shot as the fans are chanting, “Eva sucks.” Kay fought back and delivered a sick suplex for 2. Marie with a forearm shot, then hit her finisher for the win.

Winner: Marie

Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament match: Jason Jordan and Chad Gable vs. Neville and Solomon Crowe.

Crowe and Cable start things off. Cable shoots in on a takedown, Crowe stuffs it and locked in a headlock. He let it go then tagged in Neville. Neville hit a series of kicks then we cut to break.

We’re back from break with Jason Jordan hitting Crowe with a suplex then a series of shoulder blocks. Cable and Jordan double team Crowe in the corner with frequent tags. Crowe managed to ducked a clothesline from Cable and get the hot tag to Neville. Tags are exchanged. Neville hit a series of clotheslines to the fresh Jordan. He hit a big kick to the face of Jordan. Neville went for the Red Arrow, but Cable pulled Jordan out of the ring. Neville took out Jordan with a dive off the top rope while Crowe hit a dive through the ropes taking out Cable. Back in the ring, Neville went for a springboard move, but caught and Jordan tossed Neville across the ring. Crowe tagged himself in, but walked into a belly-to-belly suplex by Jordan. He followed it up with his and Cable’s tag team finisher for the win.

Winners: Cable and Jordan.

Cable and Jordan celebrate in the ring to close the show.
