WWE SmackDown (7/2) Results: Rollins Vs. Reigns

Welcome to Thursday night SmackDown, there is a recap video package from RAW shown. Seth Rollins opened the show and cut a promo in the ring about how generous he was on RAW to J&J Security. He brags about how kids in the future generation will be talking about this time and burnt Suplex City to the ground. He said that in the last two weeks, he has demolished the two guys who main evented WrestleMania. Rollins announced that Dean Ambrose will face Bray Wyatt, Roman Reigns will go against him (Rollins).

This led to Dean Ambrose walking out to the stage and then to the back to grab a kendo stick. Ambrose ran down to the ring and attacked them with the kendo stick. He stood tall in the ring to close the segment.

-Commercial Break-

Singles Match: Bray Wyatt vs. Dean Ambrose.

Wyatt with a shoulder tackle then a back splash for 2. Wyatt with a chin lock, Ambrose got to his feet, but Wyatt cut him off with a headbutt. Ambrose ducked a clothesline and hit a forearm shot. Ambrose with an up kick and then a neck breaker. Wyatt rolled out of the ring, Ambrose followed and hit him with a clothesline for 2.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back from break with Ambrose dumping Wyatt over to the floor and hitting him with a dive through the ropes. Back in the ring, Ambrose hit a DDT to Wyatt for 2. Ambrose off the ropes, but Wyatt took him out with a clothesline then a back splash. Wyatt did the creepy walk, but Ambrose hit a clothesline to him. Ambrose off the top rope with an elbow drop for 2. Things spilled out to the floor, Wyatt sent him back first into the barricade then back in the ring is where Wyatt put Ambrose to sleep with Sister Abigail..

Winner: Wyatt.

Mark Henry vs. Ryback was also announced for later in the show.

-Commercial Break-

Adam Rose began to a cut a promo in the ring, but was interrupted by R-Truth. This led to a match.

Singles Match: R-Truth vs. Adam Rose.

A complete comedy match as you might expect. R-Truth with a hip toss and then missed a splash in the corner. Rose got the heat on R-Truth, but moments later R-Truth fought back and hit his scissor kick finisher for the win.

Winner: R-Truth

-Commercial Break-

Singles Match: Ryback vs. Mark Henry.

They lock up, Henry with a big chop and then a big toss across the ring. Henry missed a splash and Ryback landed a series of strikes. Ryback went for the shellshock, but Henry blocked and knocked him down. Henry would hit the WSS, but Ryback kicked out at 2. Ryback fought back and hit the shell shock for the win

Winner: Ryback.

-Commercial Break-

Singles Match: Brie Bella vs. Naomi.

Naomi chased Brie around side early on, back in the ring, Brie, cut her off and then locked in a headlock. Naomi hit a double dropkick. She bounced off the ropes, but Alicia Fox trip her and thus distracting her. She turned around into an X-Factor.

Winner: Naomi

-Commercial Break-

Tag Team Match: Prime Time Players vs. The Ascension.

Titus and Viktor start things off. Titus with a big chop to Viktor’s chest and then tagged in Young who hit a splash on him for 2. Konnor tagged in and hit a shoulder block to Young. Viktor tagged in and sent Young face first into the ring post.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back from break with the Ascension in control of Young. Viktor hit him in the chest with a knee, but when he went to pick up Young, DY sent him over the top rope and got the hot tag to Titus. He got in the ring and hit a series of clotheslines to the now legal Konnor. Titus with a shoulder tackle to Konnor, but the pin was broken up by Viktor. Darren took him out and then Titus hit a spinebuster to Konnor for the win.

Winner: Prime Time Players

-Commercial Break-

Rusev with Summer Rae walk down to the ring. She said that it felt so good to slap the gold digging face of Lana on Monday. She said that Lana’s loss is her gain. Rusev said that he doesn’t need Lana anymore, that “blonde headed witch.” He said that he will no longer allow Dolph Ziggler to make fun of him. He said that the next time he sees Ziggler he will crush Ziggler’s scale. He said that there was a time he lost everything and soon Ziggler will feel the same.

-Commercial Break-

Seth Rollins cut a promo in the ring about how if Roman Reigns doesn’t make it out before the count of ten, then the match would be ruled a count out and he would be the winner. Reigns made it out in time and we have a match.

Main Event: Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins.

Reigns went after Rollins and hit him with a right hand. Rollins tripped him and hit a double foot stomp to the back of Reigns for 2. Rollins went for a powerbomb but blocked. Reigns hit one of his own and popped the crowd. J&J Security ran into the ring to cause the DQ.

Winner: Reigns by DQ.

They beat him down in the ring until Dean Ambrose ran down to make the save. Ambrose and Reigns cleared the ring. Reigns hit the superman punch on Joey Mercury while Seth Rollins and Jamie Noble watched on from the crowd.

The two men stood tall in the ring to close the show.
