WWE SmackDown (4/30) Results: Rollins vs. Ambrose

Welcome to Thursday night Smackdown, we see Kane and Seth Rollins arguing in the back about how it’s Kane’s fault that he is facing Randy Orton and Roman Reigns at Payback. Kane said that’s best for business is giving the fans what they want. Kane booked Rollins against Dean Ambrose for tonight. Rollins said that he wants the Kane from twenty years ago and then stormed off out of his office.

Roman Reigns is in the ring after making his entrance. He told Dean Ambrose good luck tonight with Seth Rollins. Reigns said that Rollins destroyed the Shield by himself and took the greatest opportunity of his life away from him at WrestleMania 31. He said just wait to see the fight that he brings at Payback. Kane’s music hits, he walks down to the ring as he takes off his shirt. He waves for a referee to come down.

Singles Match: Roman Reigns vs. Kane.

They exchange right hands to start off the match. Reigns got the upper hand, but Kane pushed him down. The fans get behind Reigns as Kane targets the back of Reigns. Kane with a back suplex, then a double ax to the back of Reigns. Kane missed a clothesline and flew to the floor. Kane with an uppercut, but Reigns pushed Kane into the ring post and then caught him with a drop kick. Kane sent Reigns back first onto the announcer’s table.

-Commercial Break-

Back from break with Kane having Reigns in a bear hug. Moments later, Reigns fought back and made his comeback. Reigns with a powerslam followed by a big boot. Reigns with a clothesline off the middle rope and then a series of clotheslines in the corner. Reigns with an uppercut then a samoan drop. Reigns went for the superman punch but caught and Kane hit a chokeslam for 2. Kane motioned for a tombstone, Reigns blocked and hit a DDT. Reigns with a superman punch and then went for a spear, but Kane rolled out of the ring. Kane walked to the back causing a DQ.

Winner: Reigns by count out.

-Commercial Break-

Singles Match: Damien Sandow vs. Curtis Axel.

Axel ripped his shirt off and threw it at Sandow. Sandow locked in a headlock, but Axel fought out. Sandow sent Axel to the floor, he mocked Axel and threw himself out of the ring. Sandow with a back elbow. Back in the ring, Axel put the boots to Sandow in the corner. Axel with a splash in the corner to Sandow. Sandow fought back and hit “your welcome!” for the win.

Winner: Sandow.

Ryback cut a backstage promo about Bray Wyatt. He said that Wyatt has bitten off more than he can chew and that he dedicates his match with Luke Harper to Wyatt.

-Commercial Break-

Singles Match: Ryback vs. Luke Harper.

No lock up here, they exchange right hands and then Ryback pulled him down by his hair. Ryback with a few shoulder blocks in the corner. He then put Harper on the middle rope, but Harper fought back and hit a suplex for 2. Harper went for a suplex, but Ryback blocked and hit one of his own. Ryback landed some right hands in the corner, but Harper cut him off with a powerbomb that leads us to break.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with Harper in control of Ryback. Harper with the gator roll and continues to ground the big guy. Ryback fought back with some right hands. Ryback with the Meathook clothesline and then the Shell Shock for the win.

Winner: Ryback.

After the match, Bray Wyatt appeared and hit Sister Abigail to Ryback. Wyatt stood over him in the ring.

Tag Team Title Match: Cesaro & Tyson Kidd vs. The New Day (c)

Kidd and Kofi Kingston start things off as New Day sucks chant breaks out by the fans. They lock up, Kidd had Kofi by the arm and tagged in Cesaro. Cesaro with an uppercut to Kofi followed by a powerslam for 2. Cesaro locked in an elbow submission on Kofi. Cesaro with a headlock on Kofi, but Kofi fought out. Cesaro lifted him for a suplex as Kidd went off the top rope with a crossbody on Kofi. Cesaro tagged back in and hit Kofi in the gut. Cesaro with a powerslam, but Kofi rolled out of the ring. Cesaro chased Kofi around the ring. Kofi tagged in Big E, Cesaro with a powerslam to Kofi and Big E. Cesaro put the boots to Big E in the corner. Kidd tagged in, he kicked Big E in the face and then knocked Kofi off the apron. Big E tackled Kidd off the apron. Big E drove Kidd back first into the barricade. Back in the ring, Kofi tagged in, but Kidd landed a drop kick to Kofi. Big E gets the hot tag, he hit a belly to belly suplex on Kidd as we go to break.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with Kidd getting the hot tag to Cesaro. He hit a series of uppercuts to Kofi and then a clothesline for 2. Cesaro with a quick roll up for 2. Cesaro with a powerslam followed by a double stomp for 2. Cesaro sent Big E to the floor and Kofi rolled him up for 2. Big E tagged in, he hit a suplex to Cesaro for 2. Kidd took out Kofi with a dive to the floor. Cesaro with a knee to the face of Big E and then a flying uppercut to Big E. Cesaro with a giant swing to Big E, Kidd hit a drop kick to him for a near fall Xavier Woods attacked Cesaro and caused the DQ.

Winners: Cesaro & Tyson Kidd by DQ.

Cameron and Summer Rae were in the back talking trash about Brie Bella. Nikki Bella overheard this and challenged Cameron to a match.

-Commercial Break-

Singles Match: Nikki Bella vs.Cameron.

Cameron got the early advantage on Nikki. Cameron beat her down in the ring and then kicked her out of the ring. Nikki sells a knee injury as the crowd is dead for this match. Back in the ring, Cameron locked in a headlock, but Nikki fought out. Nikki hit the Rack Attack for the win.

Winner: Nikki Bella

Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins are shown talking in the back about their match tonight. Ambrose said that he is ready then walked out. What was the point to this?

We are shown highlights from the King of the Ring tournament.

-Commercial Break-

Singles Match: Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose.

Ambrose worked over the arm of Rollins early on in the match. Rollins cut him off and sent him into the middle rope. Rollins missed a clothesline and Ambrose hit a crossbody followed by some right hands. Ambrose clotheslines Rollins to the floor, then went after Rollins on the outside. Ambrose threw him back into the ring, but Rollins drop kicked him off the apron. J&J put the boots to Ambrose on the floor when the referee was not looking. Kane walks out as we go to break.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with Ambrose attempting a comeback. He drop kicked Rollins out of the ring then hit a dive through the middle rope. Ambrose threw Rollins back into the ring, he hit a face first powerslam for 2. Ambrose put Rollins on the top rope, he went for a suplex, but Rollins hit a sun set flip into a powerbomb for 2. Rollins missed a superkick, Ambrose sent Rollins to the floor. Ambrose off the top rope taking out Rollins, Kane and J&J. Kane went to chokeslam Rollins as well as Ambrose. The refree said he will DQ Kane if he did anything. Ambrose sent Kane face first into the ring post. Rollins sent Ambrose face first into the steel steps. Back in the ring, Rollins hit a DDT for the win.

Winner: Seth Rollins

After the match, Kane, Rollins and J&J Security beatdown Ambrose until Roman Reigns ran down to the ring to make the save. Both Ambrose and Reigns stood tall in the ring to close the show.
