The Orlando Sentinel features an article on WWE hiring John Saboor as their Senior Vice President of Special Events from the Central Florida Sports Commission. Saboor joined the commission in 1994 and became its president two years ago. He also helped lure this year's WrestleMania 24 to Orlando's Citrus Bowl. John Saboor said, "This is over a third of my life spent here at the sports commission, and this is not a decision that came easily for me," Saboor said. "But Vince McMahon and the senior staff at WWE have really set the bar high in the world of sports and entertainment. For me, it came down to this being a terrific chance to work with him and other senior staff to plan for the placement for their platinum events years in advance." The article also notes that Saboor will continue to live in the Orlando area and hopes he will convince WWE decision-makers to bring other marquee events to the city.
Randy Orton has been nominated in the “Favourite Baddie” category for the Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards in the United Kingdom. Orton is up against talent show judge Simon Cowell and SpongeBob Square Pants character Plankton.
The Honky Tonk Man nearly lost his finger while doing a guitar stunt which went wrong a few days ago. He was in need of several stitches however was able to keep his finger.
The WWE Raw tour of Puerto Rico has been confirmed. The first event is scheduled for Thursday, October 16 from the Manuel Iguina Coliseum, Arecibo . The second event will be on Friday, October 17 from the Juan Vicens Auditorium, Ponce, with the tour ending on Saturday, October 18 from the Jose Miguel Agrelot Coliseum.
