In the dark match after RAW this week, Batista squashed CM Punk with a spinebuster for the 3-count in approximately one minute. A correspondent at the event noted that Kane seemed to receive more crowd reaction than Punk did before their match during the live show, and fans were behind Batista during the dark match main event. Of course this was only a dark match, and it might not be worth reading into it too much regarding the future of Punk’s main event push.
This week’s WWE SmackDown and ECW tapings will take place from the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is rumored that Ric Flair will be making an appearance at tonight’s SmackDown taping in his hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina. There is a possibility that Ric Flair will be addressing the fans however it can’t be confirmed if he will appear on camera. Expect lots of build up for Sunday’s Great American Bash pay-per-view on SmackDown as well as the continued storyline between Edge and Vickie Guerrero. The Hardy Boys are confirmed to be re-uniting once again at tonight’s ECW on Sci Fi taping. The brothers will be going up against the WWE Tag Team Champions, The Miz & John Morrison. WWE’s upcoming Legends Of WrestleMania video game is scheduled to be released in March 2009. The video game will be taking part in the Wrestlemania XXV synergy.
